Queues of people eager to get in at the turnstiles.....finally getting into the small building with rain dripping through the roof....the heavy turning ratchet of the turnstile....the handing over of Jack Dash, knowing that once through, you were in for some great entertainment, players and of course Baz up to his antics.
The promotion season running up to the old L3 must be the highlight for me. Games that stick out are the 3-2 win over Crewe after bing 2-1 down....beating Blackpool 3-0. Bully and Carter: absolute magic.

His best story is the one about the ex Manager and the Member of Staff after hours in the office of the main stand when he went to the tannoy box to collect some records. 45rpm and 78rpm they were! Greavsie doesn't know where the new ground even is............
Buy me a pint and I'll tell you the whole story and a few others.

Yes he told me that story, that ex-manager was going at 33 and a third, taking his time.
He'd want more than a pint.

Just remembered another story Mr. Rolfe related about naked star jumps and a certain well-known Bees footballer.

It's got to be worth a bottle of Drambue.

He really ought to write his memoirs.

Both my kids loved to hear his friendly voice over the tannoy and often asked me where he was when he finished....happy days.

I seem to remember seeing Mr Rolfe doing the tannoy at a show jumping event the day after Graz got his 5 for Peterborough. Quite apt following the donkey Nicky Rust the previous day.

I’m in the process of trying to learn more about my grandads Brian Figg football career I understood he played for Barnet for a while with his brother Roger Figg. I remember him telling me there was some bbc footage. I would love to be able to watch it and show my children. Does anyone know where to start with trying to obtain such footage.
Thank you

Not sure where the footage might be found. Brian played 52 times for Barnet between 1961-1963 scoring 36 goals. Just the thing we could do with now! Reckless might know if there is film available.
He also played for Hitchin Town and Hendon and played in the FA Amateur Cup Final in 1960
