Potters Bar (Hive) The Match Thread Wishing Pavey Well

Post: # 284607Post Bee_Forever »

So....Tuesday sees the bees return to FA Cup action against potters bar after Currie's toothless wonders failed to kill off the obdurate Potters Bar at the Pakex.

After Pavey sustained a broken leg following a reckless challenge by the potters bar defender and goalkeeper we will face Bar with two fit strikers and Currie's words of encouragement ringing in their ears.

It was truly embarrassing to see Currie throw the players under the bus again under the thinnest veneer of an apology from him for the performance. our lethargic complacent attitude in the second half was nothing short of a disgrace and that cannot all be down to the players.....

Still we get a chance to put this right on Tuesday and hopefully Currie has a few tricks up his sleeves to achieve this.

My team would be:-

---------------------------Loach------------------------

--------Sweeney----Santos---Johnson------

--vilhete--------------------------------tutonda---

--------------elito----h.Taylor-----------------------

-----------------J. Taylor------------------------------

------------walker--akinola-------------------------

Subs: Reynolds Matrevics Alexander Mason-Clarke Dunne Boucard Vasilou

Hopefully we will finally put in a decent performance and add to our shambolic recent record of 1 win in 8.

The pre-match team talk should be something along the lines of: Get out there and do the job properly.

Potters Bar put a lot of energy into that game Saturday. The fact the replay is so soon afterwards may help us. Can they keep that intensity up 3 days later?

We can't turn up and go through the motions. We're still gonna have to work hard to get through. This is cup football. The Hive may well be the biggest stadium they've ever played in.

Annoyingly, this is also a Champions League Tuesday night, which might limit the number of floating supporters.

My team for tonight's replay

Loach

C Alexander. C Reynolds. R Santos E Johnson

A Vasaliou. D Sweeney. I Taylor A Fonguck

J Walker S Akinola.

Would have I Barham but imagine would need more notice to call him back from his loan.
The reason i have picked vasaliou is others need to be told performances have not been exceptable.

Is I.Taylor a composite of Harry and Jack?

Barham wouldn't eligible as he wasn't available for the original tie

Did they put a lot of energy in, they sat back and never chased the game which is why their goal was so undeserved, especially as it was in the time added on for their goalkeeper wasting time making out he was injured. Had he not done so Alfie Pavey wouldn't be injured now!

Even sitting back and holding a shape for 90 mins can be mentally draining. Our pitch will play a lot quicker than theirs.

Yeah the grass was pretty long at their pitch and it hadn’t drained well either.

The ref tonight is Lloyd Wood. He was the ref for our 2 0 win over Aldershot in September

DC on Pavey in the programme says that it looks like it isn't a break but that he's in a lot of pain with it.

Let's hope we get an early goal again, and this time pull away and put the game beyond doubt.

Just get 2 up, then they actually have to attack which will leave space on the counter attack for Walker and Akinola.

I’m in Italy - anyone know of any links for a commentary? I have a feeling that BBC local isn’t available abroad...
