decision taken out of their hands by safety advisory/police!
So that’s it then? :(

Surely if Southend are concerned of Home fans infiltrating the away end, give Barnet FC the tickets to sell? (previous booking history).
If those plans were so longstanding that a fair few of you had the time to discuss and recognise your common plan to buy at the last possible moment, might it not have been opportune to have actually bought earlier? Why wait? Any limitations of funds apply to most people I would think, including the many thousands who enacted their firm plan to buy a ticket much sooner.

Maybe so, but up til last night it was pay on the door, so there wasn’t the need too. The rules have changed.

And of course in previous seasons we couldn't even buy in advance, we had to go to the bank specially and walk down the road with our cash because Southend wouldn't let away fans pay in any way traceable by HMRC.

Maybe some fans weren't aware of the change?

That was Ron Martin, who needed cash in hand like all dodgy builders. Please don’t confuse/conflate Ron Martin and Southend United in general. He is to SUFC what Josef Fritzl was to his family. Fortunately, like Fritzl’s daughter, we seem to be in the process of escaping.

Yeah same here. Anyone got 2 spare tickets I would happily pay well over face value for them. Also got 2 spaces in a car to help take people if needed

Glad to hear Southend out of peril. I hope common sense prevails and nobody is left stranded on the ticket front.

If 200+ fans turn up at the away turnstiles without tickets tomorrow the police will tell Southend to let them in. They won't want to police away fans outside the ground or in the citycentre, as it will stretch their resources

Maybe some still aren't.

It is a shame that walk ups are discouraged. Last minute changes of plans or others excited by Saturday's 6 0 win cannot attend now.

At least they will be able to watch on the telly.

If anyone does have a spare ticket please let me know. I’ve not paid attention and assumed it was cash only on the day, like previous seasons. Pretty angry no warning being given about this particularly as I’ve made all my Christmas travel plans around getting to this game.

Thanks. Yes agreed about tickets. Hopefully any fans (from either team) who can’t make it after all will say so on here or ShrimperZone so others can buy them

Thankfully I bought a ticket in advanced for tomorrow.
I find it strange and imo out of order that tickets are suddenly unavailable to purchase without any warning.
Is this true away fans can't buy on day? If so out of order especially IF we have not sold out the section we have got? If we have sold out then ok

Either way, tickets have been on sale for yonks so anyone who hasn’t bought one by the day before the game has certainly had a full opportunity to have done so.
Which is absolutely fair enough if the club had pre-warned that they would do so. To do so without prior warning is unacceptable.
Agree.

Used to be nice when we could buy on day at Southend in previous seasons.
