don't remember but his delivery usually found Heald, Arber, Basham, Ford etc's head rather than him trying to score.

That’s my worry. This could end up biting Mr Brennan on the bum.
why , Newport also played football today and had to travel to merseyside to do so! unfortunately we may have lost Reece for a couple of games if he has concussion but other than that a clean bill of health.
I suspect we put more on the line in light training than we did in the second half. It can only have done us good.

I hope we stick with this shape, Brunt looks much more effective playing from space in front of our back line and Pritchard looks better playing further forward.

Thought Maidstone gave a pretty good account of themselves. Looked like they had a goal or two in them until their sending off.
We look so much better when Gorman is on the pitch. Bossed it nicely.

After an emphatic win, going to be very quiet on here this evening, not withstanding the already flagged pressing matters of the club's Twitter account and scoreboard brightness.

I am the eternal pessimist, Jerroll.
Hope Reece is ok. We will miss him on Tuesday if he's deemed unfit.

I was expecting a lot more from Maidstone with their FA Cup run and league position. They had Timmy Abraham's returning up front on loan from Wood for the first time today as well.

Boring first part of the game. Maidstone were very tight at the back and we found it hard to break through. Our best chances came from high, dipping crosses from the wings towards the back post where their back line were particularly weak at handling. We gradually latched on to this fact. Once the goal went in it was plain sailing and didn't really have to get out of first gear for the rest of the game. Those high dipping crosses lead to two other goals.

Whatever happens on Tuesday, hopefully the last week has restored a bit of confidence in the side.

Thought Potter was really good today, much more decisive in defence and it was his through ball that cut them open for the crucial first goal. Glad to see us play with a lot more control, it's been too helter skelter for a couple of months now even when we were winning games at the death.

Hopefully Hall-Johnson is fit for Tuesday, his positioning helps a lot with that rather than having a winger/striker trying to play right wing back, although we have Cropper for that too now.

Kanu continues to frustrate but also come up with telling contributions.

No MotM today. All were excellent. The quick passing football we played today was really a joy to behold. Nicke should have scored another with a header between his first and second goals. Finlay should have scored in the 83rd minute after doing all the hard work leading up to almost an open goal. So we could (should) have won 6 - 0. I think today our club reminded themselves and their fans what a good football team they are.

On Twitter the Moose has listed 3 managers linked with the Burton job of which DB is one and Kirk Rayment has reposted. Hopefully nothing in it

Very unprofessional from Kirk Rayment, who also ‘liked’ the post. Poor.

Jumping ahead but if we lose DB and I don’t think we will, Mel Gwinnett would be a serious contender to take over. Just kept H&R up last season, top 3 this year and beat Southend away in the trophy. Also is the continuation candidate who knows many of the players and has their respect already
