Nice to see we are not the only profligate team.

I fear that the thread would die on the vine in the other chat room area as no-one goes on there. But then maybe that's for the best.

Don't feel much like congratulations for that lot but pleased for their fans.

Perhaps a thread for news about rivals and near-rivals beckons.

Personally I like a bit of discussion about notable transfers, changes of manager and so forth, and would certainly consider it topic-adjacent.

Well done to Maidstone. I see they took 4,600 to the game.

Harsh on Roy.

This is well worth a post.

One of the biggest upsets in years, by a team we walloped 4-0

And those stats make incredible reading. 0 corners, 2 shots.

Plus the Jack Taylor interest surely? Did Barnet get a mention anywhere?

Not to mention Ross Greenidge, Gavin Hoyte and Duku for Maidstone. No, no Barnet mentions.

I'm no expert, of course, but from what I see a big lesson to be learned from the FA Cup game yesterday and watching Arsenal and Barnet is that if you play with a very slow build up, push forward and just keep passing and passing, when you lose the ball, the opposition can just chip the ball forward and score on the counter. It's happened to us many times this season. Neither Ipswich, Arsenal nor Barnet shoot from outside the box and make it easy for the opposition. Man City play similarly but they have brilliant players who rarely lose the ball and are very fast in all aspects of play. Liverpool play very differently and attack at pace.

One thing we also lack is that even when given a chance to shoot our players just can't hit the target!

Maidstone defended their box well. Keeper had a great game and they looked dangerous on the counter. Ipswich didn't seem to have a plan B. Even in injury time they were trying to play patiently.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
