Also harsh on Keeley, he wasn't near the ball while most of the time wasting was happening, even the Hartlepool announcers agreed.

It's really frustrating to see. Was lucky not to get two yellows vs Aldershot, and does not help momentum at all

Looked harsh to me. The keeper was in his goal and the defender was going to take the free kick from just outside the area. Then just before he took it, they decided to swap. The keeper was deemed to be the player wasting time.

We've played really well this half. Restricted Hartlepool to very little and taken our chances. Another good move at the close of the first half.

Second half will likely be a different affair as they'll look to switch things around - hopefully we can remain switched on and get an early third to put this to bed.

Anthony Hartigan - what an outrageous free kick. Really hope he meant it.

Good finish from GoD too, thought the chance had gone but he calmly rolled it in, very Akinde-esque.

Dealt with them fairly comfortably so far but they’re a second half team so we’ll need to weather a potential storm.

We’re letting them back it in here, no need to sit off these.

An equaliser for Southend and 3rd spot would be pretty much sewn up for good...either way we look great.

(I'd say 'madness' would sooner be defined as claiming to know better than the coaching staff.)

...and they've done it. Husin levels for Southend. 8 points clear of 4th spot if things stay

The lack of in-match updates hopefully means that we’re managing the match well and seeing it out comfortably.
