Look at Taunton's fixture list!!

Post: # 371009Post hoofer2 »

Basically have to play 3 matches per week until end of season to complete fixtures in National League South!

I see Halifax v Oldham already postponed due to waterlogged pitch.

Taunton were in a dreadful state. their pitch was unplayable, they were threatened with a Winding Up Order by HMRC in January and were under a transfer embargo. 7 players left in one week and their Chairman had been signed off work so wasn't at the club. It was uncertain whether they'd survive. However they have now managed to clear their debt and so had the transfer embargo lifted so can resume playing their outstanding matches.

That's great to read. They'd take 3 games a week over extinction. Do another club share their ground?

Truro but they haven't played there yet having quit Plymouth Parkway who have a similar backlog to Taunton and have played 2 'home' games at Gloucester City in the past few weeks!

Thanks John. I thought it was Truro but doubted myself.

It was intended to be Taunton but with postponements for both sides they never managed to play there.
Truro to Taunton is a 250 mile / 4 .5 hour round trip. Truro to Gloucester is almost a 400 mile / 7 hour round trip.
And on another thread we are discussing fans who don't want to travel to The Hive on a Tuesday evening!!

Not necessarily don't want to. Some are unable to.

Potters Bar are building up a big home backlog as well , along with Concord Rangers, they have 14 matches to play by end of April in Isthmian League.

Good , Potters Bar have just signed the great Ricky Modeste so may have to go and serenade him!! Potters Bars own fault for sharing their cabbage patch with St Pantelimon of the SSML premier! didn't learn from the years Hadley shared there!

Don't want / unable - regardless of precise wording, I think my point that that Truro supporters have a vastly more difficult journey to home matches than the vast majority of Barnet fans do is correct.

I now live near Taunton and I can tell you there has not been a prolonged dry spell since I arrived in early December. I genuinely feel sorry for Taunton Town FC. Shit weather and postponements mean I haven't been able to get along there yet.

Hi to a new near neighbour (I'm on Exmoor). I can tell you it's barely stopped raining for about 18 months, excluding 4 weeks in May/June.
