Woking (Away) The Mansfield Town Match Thread

Post: # 371144Post Bee_Forever »

So..... Saturday sees the bees hit what's left of the road as we travel to Woking to take on the Cardinals in our latest Banarama fixture. With the M25 being out this feels like a day to let the train take the strain, and it will be interesting to see how the closure affects our away following.

The cards have endured a difficult season with poor signings (or Alfie Pavey as he is also known) injury problems and managerial upheavals the order of the day. Until recently they looked set to fold but three straight wins and a draw in their last 5 games have seen them flushed with relative success and dragged them out of the relegation zone. Their manager Doyle has to take a fair bit of the credit for this and with their excellent recent form and boggy conditions it will be a tricky fixture for us. No matter how well we are playing we always seem to draw 1-1 there and I hope this will not be one of those games. As long as D*niel M*ddleton is not the ref we should be ok.

For Barnet the monsoon at our temporary stadium was something of a blessing in disguise as it gave us a full week with no fixture to get some of our injured players back. With no fixture next midweek we can go in fairly strong with a degree of confidence in our ability to play our best players for longer in the game.

In terms of team lineup I would go:-

--------------------------------Keeley-------------------------------

---------------Wynter--------Thompson---------Coker-----------

-----Hall-Johnson-------Gorman-----Hartigan-------Pritchard-

-----------------------Brunt-----------------Stead-------------------

---------------------------------Kabamba----------------------------

Subs: Stevens, Cropper, O'Donkor, Freeman, Armstrong

I am hoping we will have Okimo available and that Danny Collinge will be fit enough for the bench but that seems fairly forlorn.

I am doing this one by train for my stag do bringing along a few friends hoping we will manage a win to make the day extra special.

Worryingly that was the team i had in my mind! Would go Maguire-drew over Stevens on the bench as he was struggling with a Nigel last weekend!

We now have a midweek fixture next week (Eastleigh) so don’t know if that affects your team.
Look up, look up, look up now,
It's a long way down

Go as strong as possible.
Get the points on the board early doors and secure a top 3 finish with 2 weeks to go!

With the M25 closed this weekend I hope the club have the foresight to travel today and stay overnight. I wouldn't want to arrive in Woking to find the game cancelled and us penalised 3 points.

You might be right, but I expect them to leave early Saturday, take the NCR to Chiswick and then through Roehampton onto A3 down to Send and across to Woking. They'll be traffic as the A3 gets to M25 but with 2 lanes over the M25 flyover it should be OK. They've probably got somewhere booked just outside Woking for midday lunch.

Love that you’re incorporating the game into your stag do - have a good one! Hope the team does indeed make it extra special by getting a result.

Useful with his back to goal linking play, so long as the ball is played straight to him. But he's never going to run in behind and trouble us for pace. Has been on loan at Braintree in NLS and hasn't uprooted any trees there. Hope he starts!
