Whilst Walker is a better shot stopper, Keeley is very able in this facet and what you lose slightly here you more than gain elsewhere
Essentially we have a choice between a proactive and reactive GK.

If you think about how many times we get pinned back for a corner because a ball has flashed across the goal, Walker’s stayed on his line and someone’s kicked it out. Then we have the example of the Wealdstone winner at their ground when a player gets a free header on the 6 yard box.

When you see Keeley coming and claiming crosses it completely reduces that type of pressure.

That’s why DB has brought him in.

And what about the Wealdstone equaliser when Keeley jumped to let ball in?

That kind of mistake was not a million miles from Walker’s on TV

All goalkeepers made mistakes. So do outfield players but fans forget those.
