Re: Josh Keeley called up
So Laurie will be back for Solihull & Oxford City at least then!
Re: Josh Keeley called up
The game’s on Friday and they’ll have a training camp this week leading up to the game. Seems likely to me that Keeley will miss both Eastleigh and Dorking.
I see that Bradford also have a player in the squad and have a game tomorrow in League 2; their manager was hoping to get special permission for him to arrive at the camp late, after Tuesday: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/ ... um=twitter

Re: Josh Keeley called up
Will be good to see Walker back. In my opinion is a big game keeper and I'd prefer to see him play in any potential playoff matches - especially now we have Thompson anchoring the defence.
In my opinion Collinge exposed Walker with too much forward play at expense of defence, and Oluwu did not cover adequately. The on pitch mix-ups were blamed on Walker - but both were culpable.

Re: Josh Keeley called up
Wouldn't imagine he'll have a very busy match seeing as they're playing San Marino U21s.
Re: Josh Keeley called up
Unsurprisingly, a clean sheet for Josh in a 7-0 win.
Wonder if he made any saves?

Re: Josh Keeley called up
But if he plays as well as he did vs Eastleigh, he will be staying in the side according to DB.
Re: Josh Keeley called up
But do we actually believe him!?
I love Luisma & really miss his skils!
Re: Josh Keeley called up
My take is this... Keeley is a capable keeper and unlikely to be here next season ( based on comments from Spurs side ) I am not sure how realistic it is to expect to sign a better keeper than Walker at National League level - focus has to be improving other positions so ball is not lost cheaply / won back in midfield / delivered with purpose into danger areas / more deadly conversion percentage i.e.shots to goals
I feel Walker is more of an influence / leader from back in bigger games - Southend showed this
Some of the problems in Autumn seem to have been blamed on just Walker. But in my opinion Collinge and Oluwu were marauding forward too much leaving an exposed keeper with far too much to do.
The goal Eastleigh scored on Tuesday illustrates this perfectly. You'd have more confidence in Walker saving that over Keeley. But covering defender was absent

Got to agree. Laurie is an experienced big match keeper and I feel we need him for the run in and PO matches.hoofer2 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2024, 10:36 My take is this... Keeley’s experience showed in the Wealdstone match when the baying mob behind him led to their equaliser.

Unbeaten in 3 with walker back in goal.
