Bradford (h) The Underdogs vs the Bantams Match Thread

Post: # 62933Post Bee_Forever »

So tomorrow sees the Bees return to action vs Bradford. There were a number of things which went against us on Tuesday, not least of which was the wrong team being selected. Thankfully Nurse is unavailable and I hope that Davids has learned lessons he should have already learnt and that Weston will return to the bench alongside Brown. I do not know if the new defender can play at Centre Back, but I hope he was brought with this in mind.

I would play the following:-

-----------------------Stack----------------------

--Fuller---Thompson--Stephens--Johnson-

---------Kamdjo----Oster-----Davids---------

--Yiadom----------Hyde---------Holmes------

Cowler, Brown, Iro, Byrne, Holwijn, Barker, Weston

Have to say we are a bit thin on the ground in terms of squad depth, what with neither Holwijn nor Barker being need near the first team recently. Are they available for selection?

As much as I'd much prefer ED to start - will he be up to it?

I like that team and I don't mind if Thompson or Iro play but Brown must not play. I'm not sure that it's weak in depth compared to other squads earlier in the season. Swap that bench for Cowler, Warren, Fortune, Edgar, Weston, Abdullah & Sykes and I think I'll have the first one.

I mean just take our squad for the 1st competitive game of the season against Brum.

O'Brien, Brown, Kamdjo, Fortune, Warren, Abdullah, Lee, Yiadom, Edgar, Ricky, Nurse. (Jesus that is a HORRIBLE team).

Bench : Cowler, Saville, Johnson, Weston, Vilhete, Hyde, Sykes.

The bench is ok, but that starting XI is the stuff nightmares are made of. :sos:

Could not agree more re the Port Vale team  If evidence was needed that preseason was a complete sodding waste of time, that team was it.....

I forgot about Atieno. I would put him on the bench instead of Holwijn, who I am not sure is even at the club anymore.

Teams out. No Davids in the squad again & Byrne & Weston in the middle, Hyde dropped as well. Not happy at all.

#BarnetFC: Stack, Fuller, Stephens, Iro, Johnson; Byrne, Weston, Oster; Yiadom, Holmes; Atieno

#BarnetFC substitutes: Brown, Kamdjo, Cowler, Hyde, Barker, Holwijn, Thompson.

What has Kamdjo done wrong? Was one of our better players before getting injured now he's about 5th choice.

Good news on the Bradford front though, no Nahki Wells who would have caused our defence all sorts of problems. Also their full back Meredith hasn't made it and according to Bradford fans he is one of their best players.

EDIT: Reporter got it wrong, Wells is playing. Goin to be very tough.

Weston must have made a huge impression on Davids on Tuesday. Perhaps he didn't have his specs on because all I saw was him giving the ball away.

:grrr:

Karl says we are playing 4-5-1 with Atieno up front on his own. Specific tactics for Bradford?
