Re: Preston (a) The Match Thread
Have we ever played an FA Cup tie against a club who are former winners of the competition? (Preston 1889 and 1938) Stattos please reply.

Re: Davids Out
I have been to a lot of matches this season. Today was one I missed owing to work commitments. Reading the comments on this forum underlines what I was missing! I can't remember the last time I was so depressed as a Barnet supporter. Perhaps Martin Allen's sacking on the same afternoon has a signifi...

Re: LOPEZ IS BACK
After his hat trick last season, he promptly returned to Stevenage and scored another hat trick the following weekend. How many players have ever done that? I think our management have been kind to our strikers. They have had so many opportunities to prove themselves. The fans have been much less pa...

Re: Sykes and Lowe
If we persist with the present system, the need for a powerful striker is more and more necessary. If we don't find one, our playoff chances are non existent. I actually forgot that Mengerink was on the pitch last night in the first half. Even when we went more direct in the second, he missed our be...

Re: Is it too early to panic?
Panic is probably the correct reaction. I think the management genuinely believe that this passing game will eventually work. So we can all say what we like on this forum but I fear that we will be subjected to this for some time to come. Incidentally, giving away so many free kicks around our penal...

Re: Macclesfield (h) the Swift Match Thread
Once again, we only looked dangerous when chasing the game (like at Aldershot) I can't understand why we don't play like that from the beginning of matches. I have said in a previous post that our centre backs are asked to play too much football. They never look comfortable on the ball and why shoul...

Re: The buck stops with the boss
I say again that persisting with the passing game will not work. If you watched the players yesterday, the body language was negative. Every time a move broke down they were remonstrating with each other and it now seems that they don't trust each other team mates. I am only a fan so I don't pretend...

Re: Alfreton (a) The DDD Match Thread
All the fans today spent a lot of time and money getting to Alfreton. As I was one of them, I feel that I need to say this. We have been subjected to a whole string of consistently poor performances. This passing game is just not working. We lose possession all the time and the longer the management...

Re: Aldershot (a) - The Match Thread
I think that our second half performance proves that we can play exciting attacking football. If we had played like that in the first half, the scoreline could have been embarrassing for Aldershot. The conditions were appalling so credit to both teams for producing such entertainment. Stack's error ...

Recall George Sykes?
I wonder if the management team are considering recalling Sykes from Bishops Stortford. He has scored in 2 successive matches (the first of these a last minute winner) With Jake coming off injured yesterday, Crawford may be our only centre forward on Tuesday.

Re: Lincoln City (h) The Impish Match Thead
Although we never deserved to win the game, I am really puzzled about the time the referee put on. The goal was timed at 4.53. The substitution during the 4 extra minutes would normally have 30 seconds added. I know this is hypothetical but if, for example, that final free kick had produced a corner...

Re: FC Halifax (a) - The Misty Eyed Match Thread
Adher 36, you said that you were going to burn your membership card. You obviously haven't done so. In that case, are we still going to be subjected to reading your desperately negative posts? Maybe you are deliberately trying to wind us all up but I doubt it. Move on or lighten up! After all it's o...

Re: Hyde (h) - the Hyde bound match thread.
I think that the team as a whole have underestimated all their opponents this season. With both wingers playing as they did in the first half, it is easy to see that we are going to give someone a real thrashing sooner rather than later. But Gambin going off early was a blow and KMB has still to con...

Re: Braintree (a) the match thread
I thought both wingers had poor games today. Luke Gambin seems to have lost confidence and can't beat his full back anymore. He passed back more often than going for the goal line. KMB is even more frustrating. He has all the talent and physical presence but you don't know which Keanu is going to tu...

Re: Nuneaton (h) The Match Thread
We lost our way after the equaliser and our passing was very poor for the rest of the match. I would like to see Edgar play tomorrow. I am surprised that he hasn't played this season anyway. I can only assume he is not 100% fit. If he does play, he should slot into the centre of midfield which, I am...
