Re: Marvin Armstrong
Seems a bit strange with so many injuries and games coming up. But I guess DB knows what he's doing.

Re: Look at Taunton's fixture list!!
I now live near Taunton and I can tell you there has not been a prolonged dry spell since I arrived in early December. I genuinely feel sorry for Taunton Town FC. Shit weather and postponements mean I haven't been able to get along there yet.

Re: Chairman's statement
Wasn't there one season with a few Saturday postponements, due to the poor state of the pitch? This meant extra night games, which generally draw lower crowds. Just a thought, but I could be wrong.

Re: Laurie Walker
Quite clearly he's fine if he can do a 62 mile run next week and quite clearly in sanctioning it the club are happy for his situation to be made crystal clear to him and us. It does strike me as a risky strategy. What would happen if Keeley sustained a serious injury? Would we sign another loan kee...

Bring back the tea hut's crusty cheese rolls. Let's make it like the good old days.

Re: Chairman's statement
The GLA passed our planning application to build a bigger stadium at South Underhill in 2002. Labour has a big majority in Barnet council at the moment. Underhill is not a pivotal ward. The BRASS lot were elderly in 2002. I have no doubt that most, if not all of them, have passed from this earthly ...

Re: Josh Keeley
I suspect Spurs are paying ALL of his wages and could even be bunging Barnet a bit extra. Tottenham are obviously keen to progress him and see him more than a fill-in for their U23s like many youngsters end up.

Re: Laurie Walker
It sounds a bit like "artistic differences" with DB asking Walker to adapt his style, which was something he would not or could not do. You certainly could not fault his shot-stopping, which IMO is a keeper's main role. It seems rather like de Gea's situation at Man Utd.

Re: Transfer Targets??
I notice that Christian Doidge has rejoined Forest Green Rovers. Am I right that Barnet tried to sign him at one time? I think it have been MA, who made the move.

It has been publicly stated that Barnet get half of any fee for Edward's, but are we sure it is the same for EMC?

Re: (Near) Rivals
I'd can't say that this thread comes on the back of any widespread demand, but for me at least there is interest in hearing about events that take place in the wider context in which Barnet compete, as well as the opinions of those that are well informed about such developments and any implications...

Re: Nuneaton Borough gone into liquidation 😞
I've recently moved to Somerset and find that my local National League South team are really struggling. They have been successful with promotions in recent seasons and got off to a good start this campaign before things fell apart. https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/taunton...

Re: Who Are Barnet's Rivals?
Real rivalry went out the window when Enfield FC became Enfailed FC. True that Wealdstone and Boreham Wood are on our doorstep, but these "derbies" don't have the same magic as a trip to Southbury Road, which, in fact, was about a mile from where I grew up.

Re: FA Trophy 3rd round draw
Amy Fearn and Hi-de-hi-de-hi-de-hi was my last memories of Welling Ah, Amy Fearn, there’s a blast from the past. I remember her getting all kinds of stick when she ran the line for our game at Stadium MK. Yaks bundled in the only goal of the game at the near post from a low corner. The lovely Amy w...
