Re: Forest Green Rovers (Away) The Frozen Veg Match Thread

I did think we at least looked a bit more threatening from set pieces vs Forest Green. Hartigan’s delivery was decent, and we were incredibly close to scoring from his free kick on the goaline, which Stead headed into the ground and past the keeper, only for it to bounce over the bar.

Re: Forest Green Rovers (Away) The Frozen Veg Match Thread

But surely nobody can GUARENTEE scoring. Just some players are more likely than others. Cardwell and Quigley couldn't manage it for FGR. Think cardwell would score an absolute hatful for us. He pressed us so well last night. He's never really scored a hatful anywhere TBH. Not sure where the basis i...

Re: Play Off Dates

Especially rough for the losing finalist. Everyone else will have had a three week head-start in making plans/recruiting for next season!

If a play-off team makes the Trophy Final you could see them putting out a weakened team in order to protect their key players!

Crikey - the final’s four weeks later than last year!

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)

George Barker played for us in Edgar Davids’s time in charge, I think, on loan from Brighton.

I’m interested, for one, and personally would rather we had just 1 ex-Bee thread!

Re: Ndlovu

If Kabamba is going to Bromley perhaps we could have one of their many underused strikers in return. Dinanga, Olomola, Amantchi… they sign strikers, all of whom play second fiddle to Cheek, like they’re going out of fashion!

Re: Ndlovu

Completely agree, (except that he's been scoring at a rate of a goal every 125 mins for us this season. On top of that, he's not likely to want to play for Bromley, because right from the off he's going to play 2nd fiddle to Cheek. Cheek was subbed in the 68th min at the weekend, but it doesn't app...

Re: Ndlovu

Brennan has clearly had the hump with Kabamba for months, even when he was comfortably outscoring every other striker in the division. So maybe it’s best for all parties if he gets a good move. Mind you York, Oldham and FGR fans would be thrilled to see us lose a 32-goal striker and to be back down,...

Football? When I read that Dulwich fans liked JBW, I assumed it was a craft beer!

Re: 6th January 2019

But there are those on this forum who'd rather we dropped out of the FA Cup (and FA Trophy) at the first game. To "concentrate on the league" apparently. I haven’t seen anyone saying that we should lose our first FA Cup tie. The FA Trophy is a different matter, but even then most people w...

Re: Altrincham (Away) The Manchester Reunion Tour Match Thread

Glad we're out. Would of hated a big day out at Wembley with a chance of winning a cup. Of course I would love to see us win something/anything! But, I consider our style of play defensively would be a disaster on a pitch as large as Wembley if we faced a couple of fast attackers and a defensive bi...

Re: Altrincham (Away) The Manchester Reunion Tour Match Thread

I can never understand the argument that dropping out of the FA Cup/FA Trophy make it more likely to win the league. We have a big enough squad to compete in two competitions and I'm sure that DB and team can concentrate on two things. Disagree. We put our first team out for every game up until the...

Re: Altrincham (Away) The Manchester Reunion Tour Match Thread

… I just hope that we came through today with no serious knocks, and a lot of fringe players got 90 mins under their belt. We will need them, and let's face it, we changed our entire back line, goalkeeper and rested our captain today. Not just them - wasn’t it only Clifford who was retained from th...
