Re: Lower league clubs and FA Cup replays
Personally I think the solution may be just to go straight to penalties, rather than having extra time. That way you give the lower league team a 50-50 chance of progress, which perhaps balances out the loss of a replay. With top-flight clubs worried about their players playing too many minutes, thi...

Re: Bring Barnet Back - campaign thread
Has anyone seen the planning application yet? Not really a significant update, but I can see that the overview of the current plan has been added to the newunderhill.com site, under the 'site strategy' tab (this may have been there for a while, it's the first time I've looked for a few weeks). The ...

Re: Ndlovu
Nice to see us finally sign another striker! But very concerned about the rumours of Nicke going - he is a proven goalscorer for us. Think it would be mad to replace him for Ndlovu. No slight on Ndlovu and I hope he does well for us but Nicke's scoring rate is what will help us get out of this leag...

Re: (Near) Rivals
Not a bad midweek at all with both York and FGR failing to win - don't think you can ask for much more than that. I believe York's game in hand is away at Oldham on 21st Jan. Obviously there's a significant chance of them losing or drawing that, but at least one of our title rivals will drop points...

Re: Bring Barnet Back - campaign thread
The first point on traffic makes no sense since Barnet and the school won't be running at the same time (game & kids in school) and also the fact that the stadium ran relatively smoothly traffic-wise in almost the same spot for over 100 years. It's almost the same set up! It's already been trie...

Re: Owen Evans signs - new goalkeeper
Evans was dropped by Cheltenham in October, with the veteran Joe Day coming off the bench to replace him as first choice. Cheltenham fans fairly lukewarm about Evans. I don't believe he was dropped - he picked up a shoulder injury that kept him out for a month, then was unable to displace Day who h...

Re: Recruitment and contracts
I think it's a bit early to judge Grimwood, Rye, Francis and Wilkinson. I suspect they've all been brought in as players who can make a bigger impact in their second seasons with the club, as relative youngsters. We saw the same with Ryan de Havilland, and even Stead to an extent - though his develo...

Re: Transfers 2024/25
I think if we can somehow get Kensdale, Hobson and a striker better than Kabamba, the league is ours to lose. Mo Salah is out of contract at the end of the season. Maybe we could tempt him! Maybe Brennan spent all the money on Centre backs earlier in the season or maybe Kabamba might prove a few of...

Re: Bring Barnet Back - campaign thread
I presume we'll see our application for planning permission submitted today, as it's the last day of 2024, based on the club's latest article: "The Club are pleased to announce that the plans will be submitted to Barnet Council by the end of this year as promised by Chairman Anthony Kleanthous ...

Re: Transfer Window
With sell on and or performance fees added to the initial transfer fee I could see both Brunt and Kanu attracting interest which might ultimately get TK £500k+ from the deal. Both would be capable of adding something to EFL2 and 1 level sides with better players around them than they have at the mo...

Re: South Stand
Hearing that building work on the new stand is expected commence in the next month or two and parts of the ground might need to close during construction. The crates there today appear unrelated and looked like they are for the digital hoardings. Will definitely improve the look of the stadium, but...

Re: Bring Barnet Back - campaign thread
Good to see Luton Town’s plans for a new stadium, capacity 25000) have been approved. The stadium will be in central Luton close to the station. I note from this article that WSP are also involved here, so that potentially bodes well for our application - just in terms of having the right experts i...

Re: Bring Barnet Back - campaign thread
It was my understanding that a planning application was due to be submitted before the end of the year. Is that still the case? I think someone on here suggested the club were looking at submitting an application in the first week of December. That's obviously passed, and I can't see anything on th...
