Re: Play off final date
As an orthodox Jew who can't go on Saturdays (but has managed 14 non Saturday games home & away this season) this is great news!

Re: York City (The Hive Tenporary Stadium) The Say Harrow Wave Goodbye Thread
Can somebody explain to me what a "free hit" is please? It doesn't appear to be what it sounds like. I sincerely hope that Deano didn't mean what it sounds like.... our manager and players need to believe that we can win every game otherwise why do we (or the players) bother turning up?

Re: Oldham (Hive) The Latic Acid Test Match Thread
I think we've underestimated the impact that Mel Gwinett had on the defence and on Laurie especially, and I don't in any way mean that as an insult to Craig Holloway. Laurie has gone from working with an experienced coach so good that 12 months later is thriving as a manager in the league below, to...

Re: Solihull (Hive) The Solihull or High Water Match Thread
I'll be there with my son and nephew as we always are for all weekday matches (Sabbath observance precludes Saturday games for us). However, we normally have a full (seven seater) car with my son's mates who are all PL fans but they come to Barnet when they can. Tonight we have no extras, mainly due...

Re: Aveley FC (Hive) The Unattentive Match Thread
It's an opportunity for us to enjoy a match that we should win but the pressure is off and if we lose it's not the end of the world... I've been quite stressed at games this season as thank God we are competing at the top of the table so we need to win every week. Add our propensity to leak goals in...

Re: Attendance vs Aldershot tomorrow
One point to mention re Tuesday night games is that many religious Jewish people can't come on Saturdays if they observe the Sabbath (as I do). My 14 year old son and I along with at least five of his mates (I take my wife's 7 seater) come to all non-Saturday home games and as many non-Saturday away...

Re: Gravesend and Ratfleet (Hive) The Steady Match Thread
A few thoughts... 1. How much better were we in the 2nd half when we stopped passing it around in front of their goal in the 6 yard box as much as we had in the first half? I hope Deano noticed 2. We really missed Idris and his ability to run at people 3. We can pass the ball around nicely but only ...

Re: Eastleigh (Duckburg) The Quack To The Future Match Thread
Not sure what was worse - our second half performance or the horrible drive home!! It was clear everything was coming down our right hand side in the second half but we didn't shore it up. Schoolboy tactics. Frustrating as we should have locked the result in before half time. I think we need to stop...

Re: Boredom Hoof (Hive) The Play Hoof Eliminator Match Thread
Ha ha ha made my day!!! Although a tiny part of me wanted them to get promoted so we don't have to suffer through more painful games of hoof-ball next season.... plus they'd have one of the smallest budgets in L2 so would probably get battered and come right back down again....

Re: Boredom Hoof (Hive) The Play Hoof Eliminator Match Thread
Got to echo a lot of sentiment on here. I thought we tried to out-hoof the hoofers for much of the game and clearly we don't have the players suited for that. Ref was shocking as expected. Atmosphere in 66 was fantastic. Passing backwards and sideways and especially the final 10 mins when we should ...

Re: Maidstone (away) The Match Thread Sinking Stones
I've never understood what Revan or Powell add to our team. DB seems to like Powell though. Moyo does his best but is simply not good enough to score goals at this level IMO. I was at the game and couldn't understand why we kept pulling Maidstone shirts/committing silly fouls and getting unnecessary...

Re: Oldham (Hive) The Cotton Eye Joe Royal Match Thread
As one of (a significant number of) orthodox Jewish Bees fans who has personally been to games regularly since the early 1990s, I don't attend games on Saturdays due to the Sabbath. However, my son and I - and often at least three or four of his mates - go to all non-Saturday games. Perhaps a pitch ...
