Re: Dean Brennan Statement
Excellent news.
(And the more one reads about Swindon Town, the easier it becomes to understand their difficulties in finding a new manager. What a horror show in recent years.)

Re: Coaching additions
Pleased to see this. It is a role which is very obviously needed.
I wonder who the Strength and Conditioning Coach will report to?

Re: Solihull Moors (THTS) The Minging to Winning Match Thread
What thoughts? - other than those mentioned above. It seemed to me that we were very easily knocked off our stride, right from the start of the match (or soon after), by the Solihull players' sheer physicality. The referee helped them here, as he was letting pretty well everything go - apart from th...

Re: Kidderminster Harriers (THTS) The Hawkward Goodbye Match Thread
On the matter of highlights - I see that Kidderminster Harriers have now put their own highlights (and commentary) up on YouTube. These are longer than our highlights - and they show their chance which hit the post; and also their chance which came from a mistake (or mistakes) by Josh Keeley. I'm in...

Re: (Near) Rivals
It does seem a very strange way for Chesterfield to end their season - especially after their fans and management have been moaning about others' 'lack of integrity'.

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)
I saw a 30-min documentary on Sky on Barry Fry last night. It is a fly-on-wall following him around at Peterborough & when he goes to watch youth matches & non-league games. Also features a brief interview with Ephron Mason-Clark. Not loads of Barnet mentions but interesting to see Fry’s co...

Re: Gary Hooper
He knew he was having a laugh too. I distinctly remember the expression of sheer disbelief on his face when he scored that equaliser against Solihull. Right place and right time and all that, but any of us with our fitness levels would have buried that. Disagree with all of that. I saw him in three...

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)
Meanwhile, a nice interview published by AFC Wimbledon with Ismail Yakubu here, including a few references to his time with us: https://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/news/2024/march/yak-im-proud-to-have-left-a-legacy/ Yak was a great player for us. It's good to hear his memories of his time with us, and w...

Re: Bromley (Away) The Heads, Shoulders, Bees and Foes Match Thread
In fairness, the most noticeable team to 'go out earlier' (and at whom we and others might 'look enviously') was Chesterfield.
However, for myself, I like the Trophy. And I'd like us to make amends for the 1972 match, which I attended as a youngster with some disappointment.

Re: Chesterfield (H) The Freeze a Crowd Match Thread
A very telling post-match interview from Dean, for all its brevity. I take his answers to mean that we don't (and we can't) aspire to be at Chesterfield's level - because they are far ahead of us in several aspects of Club organisation. Many elements feed into match performance level. On a related m...

Re: Chesterfield ticket sales
But dear God £6.95, I would say that is at least £3 over priced, I wonder if TK has seen what his new Caterers are dishing up and charging Prices have moved on. You're not going get fed anywhere for £3.95. A cup of tea cost £3.50 at the Chesterfield ground when we played there in November. I'm look...

Re: Chairman's statement
Today's news has left me reeling. But in a good way. I hope this succeeds. It would be a dream come true. I can't see why Brian Coleman should think that Barnet's Tories ought to oppose this? From memory, the man just seemed to have a weird, personal dislike for anything and everything to do with fo...
