Re: Wealdstone (a) The All Stations To Uxbridge Thread
Don't really get why so many people think that going to a back 4 will magically solve all of our problems, we just need to play a defender at wing-back and have Kanu on the other side

Re: Oldham (Hive) The Latic Acid Test Match Thread
I think we've underestimated the impact that Mel Gwinett had on the defence and on Laurie especially, and I don't in any way mean that as an insult to Craig Holloway. Laurie has gone from working with an experienced coach so good that 12 months later is thriving as a manager in the league below, to ...

Re: Oldham (Hive) The Latic Acid Test Match Thread
Is Stead going to be our RWB? I remember people saying he played there against Chesterfield when Revan came off.

Re: Do we need reinforcements ? If so who and what position ?
I think Kanu's best position in this system is LWB. You play him as a 10 and it's much easier to crowd him out and much harder to get him in 1vs1s where he can skin his man. I'm growing less and less fond of Coker but he and Beard should be sufficient cover. Don't think there's any point getting a R...

Re: Do we need reinforcements ? If so who and what position ?
Need to see more of Hooper playing but i'd be inclined to say we need another striker. Both he and Stead have looked better in that no.10 role in behind Nicke and if Nicke was to get injured we'd have to make big changes to the way we play in order to suit Stead (any maybe Hooper) as the focal point...

Re: Chesterfield (A) The Chester Way I'm Fielding Match Thread
Gorman for Brunt seemed to be the obvious substitution for me, do we assume Gormo not fit enough? I'm 99% sure he's in Rob Hall fitness management mode for whatever injury/fitness related reason. It always feels like he's coming on/off at very round times (e.g 60 mins, 75 mins, HT) and his partner ...

EMC got 2 today for Peterborough in their Derby vs Cambridge.
JT has 2 in his last 2 games for Ipswich, he might finally be getting regular starts.

Re: Sam Barratt
He's sat on the bench for months patiently waiting for an opportunity which hasn't arisen, a loan move will only do him good. I kind of see him as a back-up to Pritch, tall winger who has a good work rate, is good in the air and has an eye for goal who DB can convert into a midfielder. But, the prob...

Yep Woods was deployed in behind Nicke last year to man-mark their DLP who was Jones in the first half and Banks in the second. Saw Banks was playing as a 10 in the FA Cup the other day though.

Re: Chesterfield (A) The Chester Way I'm Fielding Match Thread
I think Gorman's been carrying an injury and has consequently been in Rob Hall mode in recent weeks. If we were to put him in I'd probably drop Stead. You could be more defeatist and say Chesterfield will likely out play us at home anyway and therefore drop Hartigan but that's not Dean's mindset. I ...

Re: Broadfields United (Hive) The Middlesex Courtney Match Thread
Brennan spoke about Gillmore's situation in his preseason Beespod interview. He said that, in an ideal world, we'd have 3 goalies and Gillmore would go out on loan to get experience. The problem will be finding a 'keeper who is both good enough to cover for Laurie if necessary and willing to sit on ...

Re: Club shop
Looks like its the same as it has been for the last 18 months - every piece of clothing that Stanno produce for the first team plus that rail of random Jako stuff and the hats, flags scarves etc. I think it's a pretty adequate offering (without having checked any of the prices!) Wonder what happened...

Re: Floodlights (lack of)
New scoreboard to be in place before the Gateshead game, not sure which side that will be however Looks like it will be in the main (legends) stand as the old one has been removed completely. Wrong side for me personally as 99% of the crowd need to turn around to look & also it was always nice ...

Re: Maidenhead (Hive) Hoof, Justice and the Brennan Way Thread
Agree that Hooper doesn't look fit enough to play much more than the 10/15 minutes he got, but his on the ball quality and his experience were also evident. He was repositioning Nicke from Laurie's long balls and Nicke won almost every flick-on whilst he was on the pitch, if Hooper can get fitter he...
