Scoreboards

Post: # 324818Post John Hunt »

Why do we even need two? Just move the one that works to the opposite side of the ground so supporters in the stands that are open can actually see it. Alternatively replace them on all four sides of the grounds with clocks. Proper clocks with hands they don't need to be digital. Get a sponsor to buy them perhaps. Who has ever seen an advert on the scoreboard at The Hive and been prompted to buy something?

No we don’t need 4 new clocks. We just need that scoreboard on the east side to be repaired.

It's ridiculous that the scoreboard clock in the stand opposite the Legends Stand i.e. where almost every home fan now sits , has never been repaired yet we have a functional one which we can't see without having to turn round in mid match.

We can't be tempted to buy anything advertised on the scoreboard because we don't see it. If I turn round quickly in mid match to check the time and see an advert on, I immediately turn back.

Yet another Barnet FC Gem. How long has that clock been broken for now ?

Wasn't there a story a whole back it needed a specialist component only available in the USA and very hard to obtain.

Then take the scarce component out of the one that works that few can see and put it in the one that doesn't that more people can!

(That'd probably break them both). Even with my poor memory i can usually remember the score. Before Dean Brennan took over it usually starts Barnet 0 .....

In the past 18 months the scoreboards were only necessary to keep track of the other team's score. Perhaps it conked out when it couldn't count high enough. A bit like the Millennium Bug...

Reminds me of a discussion between Luton and Barnet supporter at Underhil back in the day.

Luton supporter. - “what a tinpot ground they don’t even have a scoreboard”
Barnet supporter - “we are intelligent enough to remember the score”
Luton scorer - “fair enough, I guess it’s not hard to remember 0 “

1- 1 draw ?

Is there any truth that in honour of Underhill the school now on the site has only 8 out of every 10 lightbulbs working in each classroom?

Is this something else we can blame TK for or was it a delegated decision to buy this unique piece of imported technology?

I heard that if they boil the kettle, the lights dim anyway. I believe the science department refer to it as "the Trevor Effect".
