More than a bit of a blow I'd say.

Re: David Sesay international Call up
With Hall and Powell on the books and fit it is a bit less of a blow than it was but still worried about the lack of pace from wide positions because that's sesay and we know it.

Sierra Leone is also red listed - so unless exceptions are made he will face 10 days additional quarantine at the end of it.
And then there is the Africa Cup of Nations in January...

these 3 games are all in Morocco, is that red listed?MCB wrote:Sierra Leone is also red listed - so unless exceptions are made he will face 10 days additional quarantine at the end of it.

Re: David Sesay international Call up
Just found a list of red list countries dated 28th Sept, there are 54 counties on it but Morocco isn't listed.
Nevertheless, it's a blow to have to manage without him. Good for him but disappointing for us.

Apparently Sesay is going to be missing Halifax game tomorrow as well: https://barnetfc.com/dean-brennan-ahead ... town-clash

Good for him but blow for us to be losing him for next 3 games.

Re: David Sesay international Call up
What a great opportunity for Sesay, and how good is it for us that we have player on our books long term who will get the experience rather than someone who it seems we were only prepared to commit to on a monthly contract a week or so ago. Let’s hope he gets good game time as an international and comes back even more fired up to deliver for Barnet.
Re: David Sesay international Call up
Might explain why we gave him (most likely, not a fact as unreported) a 6 month contract - as he'll be missing big chunks of Jan/early Feb.
Maybe we can just accept that and give him a 2 year contract now, he might be tempted to sign it, or he may see Africa Cup of Nations as an opportunity to earn himself a big/bigger move

I've had a quick look on the web, but there doesn't seem to be much mention of these games - anyone know why?

They start on Tuesday so nothing to report I suspect
Re: David Sesay international Call up
I don't understand why Sesay couldn't play for us yesterday when all the Premier League internationals could play for their clubs?
Although in fairness we managed well enough without him.
