Yiadom
Re: Yiadom
I don't believe it either but I did also see a Barnsley academy player saying they're after Yiadom now because they sold Holgate to Everton.

Re: Yiadom
I read on Twitter that they've met Barnet's valuation and want to complete as soon as. I'm assuming the money from Everton allowed them to increase their bid.

Re: Yiadom
They play with attacking wing backs - we've pretty much trained him to perfection in that position.
Makes signing Hoyte all the more astute considering how confusing it initially looked!

Re: Yiadom
Would be gutted if he goes , but gives us some money at least for a new signing , but still would much rather keep him as he can play in s number of positions
Re: Yiadom
Maybe this is an opportunity for mauro to get a proper look in.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Re: Yiadom
If this is true that is a big blow, but good luck to him should he leave us.
Re: Yiadom
If KMB was worth 300,000 then Andy is worth at least 1M!
... All we have to do is keep winning the next game ...
Re: Yiadom
Do not want to see him go, but if he does I hope we get his real worth. He is a genuinely team oriented player who has given his all for our club and has improved as a player year on year since his conversion from a pure winger. A great guy who I only wish the best for!
Re: Yiadom
I think he's off.
Absolutely gutted that he is off - he's never shirked his responsibilities once and has been a bloody cracking player.
Must be a good offer...

Re: Yiadom
He was born in Holloway, a move to Barnsley would be a hell of a culture shock for him, but there is a precedent for a Barnet Player signing for Barnsley, Phil Gridelet for 175k in 1990. He played just 6 times in 3 years before moving to Rotherham. Gridelet was one hell of a player, but then Yids is great and his potential is immense. Given inflation since 1990, 500k is the minimum we should accept, should he want to move to the northern hell hole

Inflation doesn't really come into it. The finances surrounding the football world have dramatically changed, larger clubs can wield their power a lot easier since the ITV Digital debacle and so I don't think the comparisons work in the same way inflation for stable goods works.

Re: Yiadom
If this move goes through then it shows the benefit of a big club buying from the lower leagues. Everton's purchase of a Barnsley player has given them the money to come back with an improved offer which will be of huge benefit to us.
It's clear that MA judging by this comments about Yiadom still being here, was expecting him to go and made contingency plans by bringing in Hoyte. In that respect I also think he may someone in mind once the deal goes through.

Re: Yiadom
I like Yiadom a lot but if he goes then I don't think it weakens the first eleven. I prefer Vilhete at RM. Might even make space on the bench for Shomotun
