Shaq

Post: # 258334Post ninestein »

JS mentioned this in his post match interview at Wrexham, I'm surprised no-one has picked up on it...

Shaq's mother sadly passed away this week, hence why he has been missing games of late.

Shaq, our thoughts are with you and your family.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Given that Shaq is only 23 years old, his Mum couldn't have been much of an age. Very sad.

That's awful.
Bad enough losing a parent but at that age, he must be devastated.
Poor fella.

Very sad for Shaq and his family. Knowing now that this is what he’s been going through makes his performances against Fylde and Havant all the more remarkable.

Was it public knowledge at the time that he'd lost his mum?
If so, fair enough, but I really don't think it was.
So it's not really a fair comment is it.
And pretty inappropriate based on the general feeling of the thread.

Really sad to hear this, it must have been difficult for him to turn out against Fylde and Havant. Did an amazing job all things considered.

I hope the club give him as long as he needs.

Poor fella, losing a parent is something you never really get over - hopefully he has a big family to help him through these dark days and returns only when he feels ready.

Exactly my point, no of us know what goes on behind close doors but all are so quick to judge and assume

Deepest condolences to Shaq.

Perhaps fans could give a round of applause at a set time in appreciation of Shaq - e.g. 18th minute for 2018, or age his mother passed. Losing a parent is a horrible experience and it will take a long time to grieve.

I hold my hand up to being one of the fans critical of Shaq - but I am referring to his time at the club overall, not just the past couple of weeks. I really hope his form in past couple of matches will help him to kick on, with football providing a welcome distraction for him.
