This is why I'm a fan of the nations league. It pits teams against those of roughly equal ability, and forces the likes of San Marino, Malta, Andorra and Gibralta to come out of their shell, rather than just sitting back with 11 men behind the ball for 90 mins. In some respects, if must be a welcome respite for their followers.
