Which secured there champions league position.
Jimmy Glass and Carlisle, too, saving them from going to the Conference
Neither of whom were on as a sub, but in any case the argument for a sub scoring an injury time header more reinforces the argument for not having a keeper on the bench. Nobody chasing a match is going to bring on their reserve keeper in the vague hope of them doing an Allison / Jimmy Glass!
Unless you're Stuart Pearce who did something similarly daft.

What bizarrely apt timing for this thread.

If you didn't manage to go the game I can summarise Azaze performance

Kicking all over the place
Passing out from the back from goal kicks he either almost under cooked passes or just played suicidal balls putting defence under pressure
Defenders rarely passed back knowing what was behind them
He showed no authority and lack of vocal support for team mates
Few times he fumbled but managed to grab ball
Twice he came racing out
The second goal was comedy

The overall nerves the team had was obvious stemming from him

He was crap last season how can you not improve is beyond me.

Oh well you can either laugh or cry about him

It's a shame. From what I can recall Scott Loach rates him.

Goalkeeper is a lonely position. If the manager doesn't have faith in you or your supporters it must be awful.

Was he being backed or barracked?

Not sure about the home fans but the really bad errors were in front of the away fans so they really gave him a roasting as you can imagine

At the end of the match he stood in his area staring at the ground for what seemed like an age, while the two teams shook hands etc. in the centre circle.

A very lonely place indeed.

There was not a coordinated barrackiing as such. Just a few grown men shouting at him from the stands when he made an error.

Yes he is completely flipping hopeless but for 90 minutes you stay off the backs of a 21 year old kid whose confidence is clearly shot and who is representing the same badge as on your bobble hat.

If you can't do that are you really a Barnet fan?

For me that was more embarrassing than Aymens performance and believe me that is saying something.

Last week Altrincham scored a goal after we was passing out from back and possession was lost.

Goalkeepers go on social media.

Goalkeepers read forums.

Some of the comments / abuse the lad has received are hardly going to help him get better.

People should think about the wider implications of what they post.

Often the most vitriolic are posted under cowardly pseudonyms.

Blimey - if players can't handle the timid barnet fans then theres no hope. Imagine that performance at Millwall et al.

Anyway - we move on, he won't be seen again and no GK signing hopefully means Walker is fit. Surely we need cover in regardless but thats a whole new thread!
