Where is that striker we need?
Calm your horses! Yes we are due a seven figure payment as confirmed by Darragh McAnthony on his podcast. Posh as part of the agreement for the loan have allowed deferred payment until the summer, so we aren't going to see anything until then and I wouldn't be surprised if it comes in instalments either.
Does it actually matter that it's in instalments? That is how a significant chunk of transfers fees are paid, after all. Assuming we have reasonable cash flow at the club, as long as the amount is guaranteed then is there anything prohibiting TK from spending money on a striker now, knowing for certain he'll receive that money back in the summer or a later date?

I was sorry when he left us but it really doesn't seem to have worked out for him since. Apparently currently out with a bad knee injury, the fans fear the club are clearing the decks in anticipation of relegation.

Oh dear, I'd read a recent interview where he says he'd like to finish his career there. I wonder if they ever played him in any of his preferred positions

I thought he looked good. He looked great even. He looks like he was a proper player. But he just made so many mistakes that players who were less athletic and less skillful were actually better players than him. I think it's why he's had the downwards curve of a career he's had. He's 32 now and I'd say he's way off National League level, (even the poorer teams at the bottom).

He also scores so few goals for such a big bloke. The number of attacking set-pieces he must have attacked during his career but he hardly ever sticks the ball in the net.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that everyone he plays for has a poor season.

2023/24 Gloucester. In the relegation zone.
2022/23 Scunny. Relegated.
2022/23 Torquay. Relegated. (I mean how bad do you have to be to get 2 different teams relegated in the same season!)
2021/22 Barnet. Would have been relegated but for Covid.
2020/21 Barnet. I think we know exactly how bad we were and he was a significant part of that season.
2020/21 Bradford City. They finished in the bottom half of League 2.
2019/20 Bradford City. They finished 9th in League 2.
2018/19 Accrington. They finished 14th in League 1.
2017/18 Accrington. League 2 Champions.
2016/17 Dunfermline. 5th in the Scottish Championship.
2014/15 Airdrie. 5th in Scottish L1.
2014/15 Partick Thistle. 8th in Scottish Premiership.
2013/14 Tamworth. Relegated.
2012/13 Hinckley. Relegated.
2011/12 Hinckley. Avoided relegation by 1 place.

I would say that in his whole career, he's had 1 single successful season, (2017/18 With Accrington which I think was founded on Billy Kee & someone else who's name I can't remember scoring loads of goals).

I don't know what's missing with him, but it's pretty obvious that there is something wrong.

See who he joins next and put some money on them to go down.

[Edit]

I've got our seasons the wrong way round but can't be bothered to change it.

Why do I get the feeling the law of the ex is going to rear its ugly head again before the season is out...
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

A header from a corner to let Hornchurch win 2-3 away in front of 2875 spectators. What a day for Mauro!
