Chairman's statement
Re: Chairman's statement
I want to be good, is that not enough.
Re: Chairman's statement
While I am delighted by this announcement I am also not going to get carried away. The cynic in me says there is a long road ahead and this might well get knocked back. While I suspect the campaigning days of the BRASS membership are mostly past, one should never underestimate the power of Nimbyism.
If TK has done the footwork and got both the council politicians AND officials on side that would be a massive thing, but the timescales of a stadium project mean that anything could change.
I'll truly believe the club is going home once spades hit the ground.

Re: Chairman's statement
Today's news has left me reeling. But in a good way.
I hope this succeeds. It would be a dream come true.
I can't see why Brian Coleman should think that Barnet's Tories ought to oppose this? From memory, the man just seemed to have a weird, personal dislike for anything and everything to do with football. But there can't be many people like him.
I hope that Barnet council/borough/town will see (and will get) real financial benefit from the Club's return. TK got a strangely beneficial deal, all those years ago, and I hope that the proposed development will be a way to balance things out.
As others have said, it seems likely that TK is looking ahead here - that he is planning his own future involvement (or disengagement), which may involve the sale of different parts of his empire. We the fans will need to consider (and prepare ourselves) for what may come next. There's nothing to say this will be in the far distance. TK may already have buyers lined up.
Well, my overriding emotion is gratitude. Thank you, Mr Kleanthous. The football Club belongs in Barnet. And we need a stadium where noise can be made and heard.

A chance to show support for the project and ask some questions maybe:

See that Coleman in addition to being an arse, can’t spell!
Re: Chairman's statement
A very positive announcement. I really hope this happens. The Hive is a fantastic facility but following our move there the support base never took off as hoped. We need to reconnect with our old support base and kick on as a Football Club and can only do this by moving home. It's going to be a long hard journey, but one I hope we can complete. Well done TK for showing the desire to return us to Barnet.

That's the spirit, well done you !tringthing wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 17:44 What a fantastic day for everyone connected with the club!!!!
Moving back to our spiritual home makes it even sweeter.
For the opening game, how about as half time entertainment having a massive humble pie in the centre circle and all the TK detractors having to eat it
Re: Chairman's statement
Perhaps... my fear is that the revenue streams from new stadium are going to be nowhere near that of The Hive. I anticipate the moment Barnet FC leave the Hive another tenant will move in - London Wasps? - and we'll be more reliant on gate receiptsBGr wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 12:18You are in a minority of One. Looks to me that we will be remounting the stands from the hive and bringing them home.hoofer2 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 12:11 This might sound controversial... but I've got used to The Hive and don't want to move again. The stadium will look great once south stand is built and that monstrous utility building that looks like an industrial estate office block.
Fair play to TK for locating a site, entering dialogue with Barnet Council etc.
Will the revenue streams from The Hive still feed into the club if we relocate?
This is the best news in the history of the club.

Unbelievable .
Let’s support this fully.
I’ve still got some bricks from Underhill, I could bring them back….
Walk to football at Underhill … a dream
