Great on his day but too injury prone

Yep, you might be right. I do think DB will be looking at bringing in one or two of his mould though - that is players who have been there and done it in terms of winning promotions and titles. Characters who can stand up to the pressure and get us over the line.
That description applies to Gavin Holohan (32), an all-action midfielder released by Grimsby. Key figure in two promotions from this league in recent years (Hartlepool and Grimsby’s) and incredibly highly regarded at both clubs. Irish, too! May not be feasible due to location, of course.

Not massively impressive numbers but wonder if DB could work kabamba-esque wonders for Josh Umerah

Had his best season at Wealdstone under Dean. Definitely an option.

Miche Efete (RB) is another ex Wealdstone player who may interest us, currently at Ross County until end of season and was another player in the Grimsby promotion squad that Cropps & JMD were part of.

Umerah was at Wealdstone the season after Brennan left (not to say he would or wouldn’t be a good option).

Fair point! Got my timeline muddled up!

Dylan berry, GK from norwich would be good. Great loans at st albans and hendon. Huge in stature, contract ending. In terms of loans, spurs are probably looking at a few to send out considering from their perspective, keeleys was very useful. Theres a few 18s/21s who are probably of that level and probably need somewhere National until January and L1 until the summer to see if they have something to offer.

I doubt we'd be looking to sign loanees knowing that if they were any good we'd be unable to keep them past January.
Sounds like you are looking at this from a Spurs prospective but from a Barnet prospective why should we be interested in developing players for Spurs?

As I see, you either bring in a loan keeper from a higher club, who is likely to be more adept with the ball at his feet, or you go with someone more experienced (and probably less adaptable) from a NL team. The latter means we might as well of held on to Laurie for another season.

I think goalkeepers are much of a muchness at this level. Getting a loanee from a higher division on a lot lower wage contribution, which then allows for the budget to be spent on the outfield 10 is much better way of spending the budget.

Doubt we'd be able to afford their wages but some big names on Wrexham's release list.

Aaron Hayden worked with Brennan at Hemel Hempstead, but he’s still league 2 quality so unlikely

RHJ disappointed this season, coming from a higher does not guarantee improved performance

Very true, I was doubtful that Stead would be able to make the step up from Brackley. It took him a while to get going but when he did he has been brilliant. Oluwo as well has done well since signing from Chelmsford. I would Rather DB signed promising players for the future than injury prone has-beens, of whom we have had more than our fair share over the years.

I think Hall-Johnson was very decent at times although he faded after the turn of the year.
