Nothing to do with pay what you want and / or non-league day; the crowds flocked in as they heard football superstar Ashley Carew was playing

Dulwich Hamlet must be one of the biggest under-achievers in the country.
Their average attendance for the 2023/24 season was in excess of 2600. That figure is more than 1000 per match higher than the team which finished 2nd in the Isthmian Attendance table (Chatham Town).
And yet with all that support and income their team only finished 12th in the table.
I don’t know whether there are off-field issues at Dulwich but a club with that level of support should really be looking for promotion through the leagues and aim to be in the NL or even EFL.

I went to a game a couple of years ago when we played away at Torquay in the trophy. Think it was sold out at 3100 that day

Hakan Hayrettin in charge , Raven Constable in goal and ex Wood and Woking Mark Ricketts is captain. IPL apart from Hornchurch was pretty close for the top dozen sides and will be next year, I'd expect Hamlet to be right up there. They emphasise their inclusivity to attract fans....

They have had issues with use of stadium and were even locked out of it a couple of seasons back.

Goes to show that with a proper matchday experience and local community engagement, the possibility is there. TK should take note.

I've been to loads of Hamlet games and It's a great day out. It's actually the reason why they've become my 2nd team from my time I lived in Peckham. Fantastic craft beers and great food and a good fanbase too. They have a monthly comedy night that sells out at Champion Hill, started by fans. https://hamletcomedy.co.uk/

Wouldn't it be great to have supporter run events at South Underhill.

They've modernised the feel for the non league match day experience and we could definitely take a leaf or two. Proper community spirit within the club. They know how to appeal to their young left leaning creative community in Peckham, Brixton and Dulwich Village.
