Why not ? It gives our club exposure to Premier League club supporters, offers our players the chance to raise their profile and be tested against skillful youngsters.

It also undoubtably brings a decent amount of cash into the coffers and the games will be far more interesting to watch than the Herts Senior Cup and early rounds of the Trophy.

The reaction to the entry of PL clubs into the EFL Trophy was fairly muted. I think the host clubs are generally doing well to break even.

Judging by the responses on other NL forums, there doesn't seem to be any appetite for it. I certainly will not be going to the matches.

As we don't have a reserve side playing anywhere I don't at the moment see a problem with this, as said it will give members of our squad competitive game time, instead of just training sessions or cup games.be curious to see if it's going to be regional, South and North, as don't see Dean wanting to take a team to say Newcastle or Liverpool, as don't want all the travelling.

I suspect there will be rules which limit National League sides’ ability to put out teams consisting only or even predominantly of reserves, similar to those which apply in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, eg a requirement for the starting team to include a certain number of first teamers.

The team line-up for a match in this competition will have to include a minimum of 4 players from the preceding league match.

I cannot imagine the attendances will be any better than those for HSC and quite possibly less than for the early rounds of FAT but time will prove that point either way by the actual attendances. My opinion is that seeing as there has been minimal interest from PL fans in their U21 teams playing L1/L2 clubs, there will be no more ( maybe even less) in watching them play NL clubs.
It will doubtless be regonalised but it's not in school holidays so that won't encourage attendance.
I rarely miss home matches but I don't intend to go to these matches.
