Tbf I do generally post on other boards.

No sour grapes here. It was a general observation but if you have a business built alongside to financially aid the club then that's great.

We have only had new ownership for about 6 weeks so it's going to take quite a while to undo 25 years of mismanagement and neglect.

We are massively short on squad depth and quality. It's goin to take time to get the club much more sustainable and overhaul the playing staff.

I've no doubt that Barnet will be right in the mix for automatic promotion.

If we can add a bit more fire power we should make the play offs.
As noted earlier in the thread, we also recently got a significant amount of money for 2 or 3 players in sell-on clauses, amounting to 7 figures.

Maybe you shouldn't post spurious nonsense (sorry, "general observations") on another team's forum.

The thing about being a guest on another club's board is I try to post politely. If my post was seen as sour grapes, then I'm sorry as it wasn't meant to be. But anyway, thanks for the poems and vitriol, always appreciated.

Then when Covid struck, he and the Dover Chairman showed financial caution whilst the other 22 clubs carried on as though nothing had happened. Barnet and Dover finished bottom. So I don't think any of us would accuse TK of being mad when it comes to spending money. As rudewoyben says, we have money at the moment, also clearly TK trusts DB to spend wisely.
And look where Dover are now, IPL.....
Barnet should have gone down to National League South... I do not agree with the decision to not relegate us... very jammy

I thought there was no relegation because the regional leagues stopped playing and therefore there wasn't anyone to come up and take our place? So while it was indeed very jammy it's hard to see how another decision could have been reached (promotion off half a season not really seeming justified)?

We’re all aware of the attendance situation, which is mainly put down to playing 6 miles away from our core fanbase. That point seems to have been missed.

Fortunately a lack of bums of seats is made up by pitch hire, weddings, gym memberships, venue hire, motorbike lessons, scanning facilities etc etc.

Roll on Maidenhead away.
Agreed... this is where I am a little nervous should we move back to hallowed ground of South Underhill... if we get permission to build some additional revenue generating facilities there... the income from The Hive will no longer find it's way to Barnet FC and only revenue generated from Underhill site

It’s always been up to TKs discretion as to if he moves any money from the Hive businesses to the club or not. Whilst he may be tempted to try and run the club off the Underhill revenues, if they don’t prove to be sufficient then I’ve no doubt he will continue to use Hive revenues to fund the club.

More likely we’ll have the best of both worlds with a bigger crowd playing in our home town and the revenue from The Hive to support our efforts. Would be mad to sell that site, that’s set him and his family up for life.

Why would that be the case ? When we were still playing at Underhill the revenues from the training ground at the Hive, the gym etc were included in the numbers used for the salary protocol.

Other title contenders attendances yesterday (total including away fans):

Altrincham - 1601
Gateshead - 1096
Solihull - 1037
Dagenham (don't write them off as mounting a potential challenge) - 1481

None of whom will have anywhere close to the extra revenue that the Hive is able to generate.

So someone from another club's support feeling the need to come on to OUR forum and gloat about attendances is pure sour grapes on their part and they should mind their own business and worry about their own club's problems

Why wouldn’t it still generate income for the club?

I think you’re the only person positing Dagenham as a potential title contender. Daggers fans certainly aren’t!

I think it comes down to whether the move is part of a strategic plan to separate the club from the family business given the uncertainty around inheritance of the club from TK. A club back at Underhill is easier to sell on than one at the Hive. I don't know, I'm only speculating but I think it is a possibility.

Saying that, Natasha Kleanthous seems to be doing a fantastic job as CEO of the club so who knows?

You may benefit from reading back on posts, there is absolutely no gloating on crowd size at all that I could see. If you don't want opposition supporters on your board, then fair enough, don't let them register. One thing for certain, I won't bother any more.

Of course Southend have a lot more fans than us - they should not be playing at this level and are only doing so because of gross mismanagement/neglect. They are at least a League One team. Fortunately, football is not just a competition for who gets the most fans (thank goodness!).

There is an assumption that we'd get more fans of we were back at Underhill. This ain't necessarily true. If you look at the gates we were getting when in the Conference whilst at Underhill in more recent times (i.e. not the Fry/Flashman days), we're actually getting more now. We also got some pretty small crowds even when playing in League Two. I can recall a 1300 gate for a Tuesday night game in August - a lot less than we had against FGR.
