I'd be very surprised if the rule was not in place. The Premier League would not throw money at NL clubs to play against their academy teams.thebeekeeper wrote: ↑13 Aug 2024, 09:45That's the case for the EFL Trophy, but I haven't seen anything to suggest it's definitely going to be part of this competition, unless I've missed that news?rudebwoyben wrote: ↑13 Aug 2024, 08:01 There is a minimum number of first-team players (i.e players who played in the previous league match) that have to be part of the starting line-up for this wretched abomination of a competition.

No. The longer we go without hearing any official announcement the more I think it's not happening

Well, looking at our injury list it’s just as well that this competition is hopefully not going ahead and our squad is being fully utilised anyway!

Well done TK having the courage to boycott this, this season is all about maximising our league finish!
I used to think when he was on the board that TK would align to whatever the National League asked but I may have done him a disservice!

Re: Proposed competition with Premier League U23
Four of the current top 7 of the NL are taking part…FGR, Rochdale, Gateshead and Oldham.
It will be interesting to see how this competition affects their league form.
FGR don’t need the money, not sure about the other three.
