Lets hope we don't hear that he's now on loan to York, Oldham or FGR!

Sorry for the false info. Lots of guess work how we have managed to fit him into the squad but nobody has a clue

Re: Bees on Loan.
I listed 22 outfield players who have played a league game since the window closed, but I've since been advised that Tanton and Metcalfe are too young to require registration, so that would free up 2 slots.
The issue during the week against MK Dons might have been that they hadn't registered him, rather than couldn't register him, and only found out too late to sort it on the night. I'm not sure how easy it is or isn't to register a player.
It's the only thing that makes sense.

Re: Bees on Loan.
Those two you mentioned are U21 so you are correct on that but two others have featured as unused subs. Also remember the FA Cup doesn't count.
We were definitely up to 22. The EFL rules do allow the squad lists to be amended in exceptional circumstances
We have one U21 player listed in the main squad list which seemed odd as he didn't have to be there. However it looks like we needed one club developed player in the the main squad list and he was the only one. So the favourite theory now is we have now moved him into U21 list and added Hobson. Apparently the downside of this is that we will only be able to field 6 subs. That might not be an issue for a while
The only other explanation is we have pleaded exceptions circumstances given the injuries and they have accepted them thus allowing us to remove one of the injured players.
If you manage to get promoted you'll have all this to look forward to next season

We’d take that problem!!!Doug1234 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2024, 15:59 Those two you mentioned are U21 so you are correct on that but two others have featured as unused subs. Also remember the FA Cup doesn't count.

What do you think of our chances of signing him permanently when your injury crisis eases? I think he’s out of contract in the summer so either PC has already made a call on him or will use the coming period to appraise him

It now remains to be seen if DB goes out and gets a direct replacement for Hobson. Is a striker more of a priority?

Re: Bees on Loan.
As long as it's not Efflong (who has left Braintree).
Re: Bees on Loan.
I’d be more than happy to get Effiong in as cover for Kabamba. His scoring record over the last couple of seasons is absolutely superb, and even when he’s not scoring he’s a nuisance for defenders with his pace and power.
Possibly not good enough technically for Brennan, plus I’m assuming he may be a bit pricey for a back-up. But we sorely need another number 9, and we could do worse than someone with hundreds of games at this level plus a goalscoring record in recent years which compares well with just about anyone.
Re: Bees on Loan.
Effiong scored 2 goals in 22 appearances for Braintree. He's 33 years old. He played 90 minutes in their match v us earlier in the season, did he actually do anything in that match? Maybe he did but I've no recollection. No thanks.

Re: Bees on Loan.
In order for a player to be listed as a substitute for a league 2 game, they still have to follow normal registration rules, (unless they are too you). That they were unused actually doesn't make a difference.
I was looking for player who had played league mins after the window closed. I wasn't looking at FACups or any other games.
