588????? Did the person counting suffer from double vision? I'd never have thought that there was anything like that many.

Great to see the likes of Shelton, Clifford and Hall-Johnson get minutes in the bank on their return from layoffs plus Grimwood Rye and Cropper got good game time too. Stockton or Spennymoor away no doubt if we don't get a NL team! Roll on Gravesend next Saturday!

Anyone have any idea what’s going on with Nartey? He seems to have been in full training for the last few weeks but wasn’t even in the squad today. Could be a big player in the second half of the season if we can get/keep him fit.

Thought Bellagambi was by far the most interesting thing to come out of this game. Very confident and commanding, good with his feet, made good decisions about when to come out and was brave in a couple of collisions. Didn't see him make a save or be tested on crosses but so far so good. Wouldn't be worried if he had to start a league game.

Whole team was very professional. Brunt was clearly having a lot of fun trying things and it came off for the assist and the goal. Grimwood and Rye looked good in differing ways - one with strength and physicality and one with poise and skill but both reading the game well, am sure we will be seeing more of them in the coming years. That said, all must be measured against the fact that Aveley were really very poor.

Yes Aveley very poor, as was the weather, was very cold by the end and relieved to only see four minutes ET.

Good to get minutes into Hall Johnson, Shelton and Clifford.

Not a classic today !

Deano brought up the subject of injuries in his pre match interview but didn't mention him, which suggests to me he's not expecting him back any time soon.

Listened to the commentary. Sounded as though Aveley were useless and we totally dominated the game, not for the first time, so why didn't we score more goals?

To be fair, the match was played in horrible conditions and like a training session. Yes we should have scored more but tbh there will be many other matches where that will be more important.

Because of the weather. Maybe wind doesn't come through well on the radio.

No Kizzi and not mentioned in the list of injuries. Can only assume we are looking to offload him and free up what are probably chunky wages

Aveley were a poor imitation of their side from last year. Despite the propaganda from their Twitter account, they were never in the game.

As mentioned, the most intriguing part of today was working out those fringe players that didn't get a run out today.
I want to be good, is that not enough.

Was measured controlled performance. Aveley just sat on the edge of the box so very little space behind. Second half it was a bit more open, Nicke, Shelton both should of said scored but it was still a good game to watch
