Re: Winning the League?!
We have not had any update on the fitness of Ndlovu. His absence was felt on Saturday and it is vital he plays against Wealdstone.

Winning the League?!
This is definitely a huge silver lining to the Braintree loss. Cannot see York getting less than 3 points from the next two, so we will almost certainly get to enjoy winning it while actually playing (barring an extremely unlikely collapse on our part).BeeArmy22 wrote:On the bright side, we’ve given York a margin of error now in order for us to win it on our terms on good friday. Gateshead away will be a tough game for them, as will aldershot with the form they’re in.beesknees99 wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025, 12:30 So, the permutations — assuming we beat Wealdstone:
- If York pick up 6 from the next 2 games, the earliest we can win it is Sutton away, provided we also beat Eastleigh. If we don’t beat Eastleigh, it goes to the Aldershot game.
- If York pick up 3 or 4 points from the next 2, we can win it at home to Eastleigh (surely the ideal scenario)
- If York pick up 1 point or less from the next 2, we will win it BEFORE the Eastleigh game, without playing
Of course if we DON’T beat Wealdstone, York *could* end up just 2 or 3 points behind us pre-Eastleigh.
As difficult as that is to envisage, it’s certainly not impossible - so next week does now take on a renewed importance.
Re: Winning the League?!
They'll turnover Aldershot who will have eyes elsewhere surely, Gateshead is the one maybe but it was a poor Dagenham they beat at the weekend but I do feel some of their new players will improve them.
Surely with 3 of our next 4 games at home we can get the job done at home - would be great to win it at the hive.

Everyone keeps saying they’ll have their eyes elsewhere but the trophy final is in weeks. They’ll want to go into it in good form.PBBee wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025, 16:51 They'll turnover Aldershot who will have eyes elsewhere surely, Gateshead is the one maybe but it was a poor Dagenham they beat at the weekend but I do feel some of their new players will improve them.

Re: Winning the League?!
Also Aldershot have only lost once to the top 4 sides in 6 games (and that was us), and it was only 1-0 when they played over a half with 10 men.
York drew 0-0 at Aldershot, Forest Green Drew 1-1 (Home) and 3-3 (Away) and Oldham Lost 3-1 (Home) and 4-1 (Away).
Obviously we also play Aldershot at home, but hopefully will be done and dusted by then.

We’re literally fine. We need 1, maybe 2 more wins. We’ve all but done it

Think I saw him yesterday in a shop near me, he wasn’t limping at least !talldarkslim wrote: ↑07 Apr 2025, 16:08 We have not had any update on the fitness of Ndlovu. His absence was felt on Saturday and it is vital he plays against Wealdstone.
Re: Winning the League?!
When Rory went 5 clear at the Masters with holes running out I thought it is as unlikely he will lose from this position as Barnet coming second in the National League.
Oops. But he got there in the end as I hope will we.

While 1 point is all we need 4 points and 10 goals would be magical and get us to the double century.

Hope we go for the win against Shots, don't think Deano would sanction a mutually beneficial tame draw, I'd hope we have more integrity than Cov and Morecambe.
Re: Winning the League?!
would be wonderful to be 2 or 3 nil up at half time so we can celebrate with a half time pint

Aldershot and Fylde have poorest form of all National League sides over past 6 games...
Come on Bees - just one more point!

Re: Winning the League?!
We’re going to win the league in the best way possible:
a) By having built up just enough tension to make us genuinely anxious that we might not win it — only for that anxiety to turn out to be completely unfounded.
b) By having it almost confirmed in front of a packed away end at a local-ish derby.
c) By officially sealing it at the final home match of the season, so the trophy lift happens at The Hive.
d) And by giving us a completely stress-free final day, away at some distant ground, with the job already done.
Because it wasn’t sealed five or six games from the end of the season like it possibly could have been (a-la Chesterfield last season,) we avoided that potential end-of-season damp squib and every match has mattered.

It only takes a mix up like in our last home game for this not to happen .....adher36 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 10:30 We’re going to win the league in the best way possible:
