The Barnet over 50s walking football team have returned from their travels , recording high scoring victories in round robins ..
Travelling to the Bobby Moore memorial stadium , the Bees won 5-0 and the following Sunday away to cheshunt they went further with a
6-1 victory , congratulations to all those that traveled

It certainly can be and the fun side is something we encourage, Norfolk, Of course we all play to win but the sight of people chasing the ball and trying hard NOT to run brings out the light hearted side of the game. I feel this is one of the reasons why people keep coming back to our sessions. Not that it's all laughter though, we do have some very good players and have some great games. People who haven't played for 30 years or even longer soon rediscover their old skills and with the fitness side of the game, it doesn't take too long to roll back the years and play, albeit at a reduced pace.

Everyone and anyone are welcome to come and try - no matter what age but preferably over 50 (or very near to it). We even have an over 65 team playing in tournaments.

Having just completed my half century, and being spectacularly unfit, I'm going to have a serious think about this.
The TV program was even talking about internationals being organised eventually.

Some good news

Barnet over 50s WFT beat West Ham at the hive
We played a round robin with our B team included .
Beating the Hammers 2-1 , 2-1 , 2-1 and losing 1-0

Our sessions on Thursday evenings at 7pm for an hour and Friday's 2 - 3pm will continue through the summer. Both sessions end with a little socialising in Pecking Order afterwards.

There will also probably be opportunities to play against other club's, either in friendlies or tournaments in three different age groups - over 50, over 60 and over 65. With our most senior players in the 75 - 80 years of age group there are opportunities whatever your senior age.

Whether you played at any level or just kicked a ball around in the park we would welcome anyone to come and have a go. It's a good way of helping keep fit.

The cost is £3 per session plus £1 If you park on site.

We have recently won a tournament and, importantly for us, many friends along the way.

We don't ask for any commitment, come whenever you want.
