Carlisle (Hive) The Gashman Cometh Match Thread

Post: # 171992Post Bee_Forever »

Sooo.... Saturday sees the bees return to the soulless environs of the training ground to take on Carlisle United.

The Rock Throwing season aside, our Scottish opponents have generally been quite friendly towards us, and it is nice to see the club recognising their recent and perennial flooding difficulties by offering half price tickets.

With McLean gone, and Yiadom soon to follow (and suspended) it will be a real challenge for Barnet to maintain their excellent Hive form against a strong Carlisle team. The starting lineup seems pretty easy to predict with the only question being whether Randall will displace one of Togwell or Weston from the starting XI. I would go:-

-------------------Stephens------------------

--Hoyte-----N'Gala-----Dembele---Johnson

--Hackett---Weston---Togwell----Gambin--

--------------Akinde-----Gash-----------------

Subs: KML, Champion, Odoffin, Muggleton, Batt, Stevens, Randall

Looking forward to this game, just hope we do not lost momentum with the loss of McLean.

Randall can't have come in just to make up the numbers, with one further signing pending, which surely has to be a defender, my line up would be:

-------------------Stephens------------------

--Hoyte-----NEW CB-----Dembele---Johnson

--Hackett---Randall---Togwell----Gambin--

--------------Akinde-----Gash-----------------

Subs: KML, Champion, N Gala, Muggleton, Batt, Stevens, Weston

Of course, some of the signings may not be ready to play a full 90 mins, so there could be some variation.

Looking forward to this, two clubs in as many games, that got pipped to the post by Barnet as champions!

I just mis-read that. I thought at first you said there will be goats this weekend.
Only kidding.

I had almost forgotten what a complete (to use his own favourite word) numpty Simpson was.

Strange that they don't seem to be able to move on after all this time... the real villain was Simpson. Fairclough was always dignified when it came to handling the after match media. Simpson just went about ranting about officials etc and clearly couldn't handle the pressure of a big game.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Ha ha. I remember that paper being disgusted by us actually having the cheek to win the league.

Love their reference to a two horse race as well. It was a one horse race from the end of August onwards Image

Wouldn't it be nice to have a young Warren Hackett at our disposal too...

They also did not appreciate the irony of Clist being allowed to take the penalty as we had wrapped up the title already and
only needed to run on neutral.

Oh, how cute they've referenced our "Good work by BFC thread" and called us a bunch of morons.
One of them professes a dislike for Yakubu. How can anyone hate Ismail Yakubu? He's one of the nicest guys around!
