Word of warning, give Antwerp games a swerve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36E-QTA3yOMNorfolk & Chance wrote:Seriously, the suggestion that asthmatics etc shouldn't go to a terrace just in case they have a flare induced attack?
There is no cure for that kind of bellendery!!
I hope the twats who set it off were kicked out and subsequently banned.

If lots of people can't use it, it's a crap system.eastbarnetsupporter wrote:The problem with the turnstiles is that people don't know how to use it.
I've seen people attempt it and it's basically human error all the time.
The turnstile is there to serve the user, not the other way around. The turnstile doesn't generate revenue for the club, the user does.
So what should the club change? The turnstile or the user?

The turnstiles are very quick and easy if you know how to use them. It's never taken me more than one swipe to get in. 5 seconds maximum. The problem is that there will have been lots of people who don't know how to use them on Monday.
I totally agree that the club did warn people to get there early and so you can't really complain. However, having 2 or 3 stewards advising people how to get through would, I expect, have sped everything up.
I suspect the main problem was people expanding the QR code on their phones. Leave it at the original size and you're fine. Whenever I bring people for the first time they think they have to max out the size and they struggle.
The queues at the bar however, now there is something to complain to the club about. Again, we expect queues, but competent bar staff and pre pouring would make all the difference. When will they learn!?

Re: Brentford (Hive) The Bee All and End All Match Thread
The turnstiles are similar to those used in many places and are incredibly simple to use. A similar system is in use at the Emirates and they seem to manage. I can't believe that Barnet fans are more stupid than Gunners' fans! I watched as a couple of young lads (about 15 years old) struggled to work out how to hold a piece of paper near the scanner and ended up asking for help from a steward. There are instructions at the the turnstiles but maybe they should be more prominent.
From the South Terrace it was clear that many of the late comers had seats in sections F & G as there were many seats empty at kick off. I wonder if these people were not regular visitors to The Hive so had not left enough time to get to the ground and get in.
Of course, the Cup draw meant that quite a few waited to watch that before getting into the ground.
Anyway, we're unlikely to get such a big crowd in the near future so all will be well. The attendance against Sutton on the 9th will be very interesting.

No indication of this before. Good ole friendly Brentford fans! I missed it all apart from their ridiculous posturing.
Are we allowed to bill them direct?

Half of the turnstiles for the West Stand were not working properly. I tried my ticket at one of them that didn’t have a queue and it wouldn’t work. I tried it at one of the others and it worked first time.

Same thing happened to me. I have never had an issue scanning before, tried on two turnstiles and neither worked, tried on the 3rd and got in first timeOB1 wrote:Half of the turnstiles for the West Stand were not working properly. I'm no techy but I wonder if a server (?) linked to the scanning machines got a tad overloaded.
It clearly can't all be put down to human error during the ticket scanning process.
If so it's unlikely to be a regular problem.
You don't get this issue with cash on the gate..................whistle emoji......getting my coat emoji......

Well, no. You don't get cash on the gate. For a sold out game.Norfolk & Chance wrote: You don't get this issue with cash on the gate..................whistle emoji......getting my coat emoji......
There was definitely an issue later on. I got in at 6.30, no queues, every gate working fine, lots of staff, first pat down I can remember to check I didn't have any flares etc... but a mate that arrived at 7.40 took 20 minutes and said people were climbing in. Thankfully there's would't have been people at The Hive who didn't have a ticket, but sounds like an investigation needed. Glad to hear the gate was open - assume tickets were checked?!
