Really sad news today that we have lost a very long standing supporter to this wretched virus, Malcolm Smith or Moth as we all knew him.
Rest in peace mate.

Sad, sad news coming after the deaths of legendary players. Malcolm (Moth) was a familiar face going back many years at Underhill and at many away grounds. Always up for a chat, a really nice guy. He was a legend as a Bees supporter. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family.

The more I look at that photo above it perfectly captures a contented person, leaning on a bar with a beer and a with natural grin as if the photograph has momentarily interrupted him in mid discussion about Barnet away games in the 1970's. He is doing what he loved best I reckon!

I had an exchange of texts with him on Wednesday and he seemed fine. His final text to me was “Nice one! I’ll remember that for next season!”
