A bad day off the pitch too
Aside from a very disappointing result, it seems like quite a lot went wrong in terms of organisation and treatment of fans at the Hive. From reading various accounts on twitter these included: shutting the Hive bar without notice at 2pm, long queues in legends, Notts County fans having to use the bar in the West Stand, no car park tokens being sold at the Hive Bar leading to delays on exit and no hot drinks at the teahut.
This is a really poor show. It's quite basic stuff, and this kind of thing makes a big difference to the whole fan experience. At the start of a new season, it was a chance for the club to turn over a new page and remind fans that watching Barnet can be enjoyable. Sadly it looks like the club didn't take it.

When I left after 80 minutes ( couldn't stand anymore ) one of the exit barriers at the car park wasn't working, don't know if this was rectified by full time ![/code]

Whole club is a shambles at the moment. How long did they have to prepare for today and try to finally make sure things worked? We haven’t even had a working scoreboard for about 3 years! It’s just abject every way you look.

Definitely something that the new Supporters’ Association should bring up with the club. There is a lot that can be improved very quickly.

Unfortunately nothing surprises me at Barnet anymore.
From shutting two sides of the ground after reassuring fans they could return to there original seats/area after covid restrictions had been lifted to today's issues.
The club never seems to learn.

Ah yes- I had forgotten the scoreboard still not being fixed in the main stand! The whole thing looks amateurish.LoringBee wrote:Whole club is a shambles at the moment. Re: A bad day off the pitch too
We are restricted as home fans to two-thirds of one stand in our own ground. And the only working scoreboard is behind us. Brilliant!
Re: A bad day off the pitch too
Add the lack of any post-match comment from manager/coaches or players to the list.

The Hive Experience
Arrived early at the stadium as my son wanted to watch the Liverpool match on BT
Went to the hive bar, asked at bar if BT sport could be put on and told only sky working, lady said we could go to legends bar and watch Match there.
Proceeded to other side of ground only to find all the gates wide open, assumed stadium not yet open, after couple minutes ask a steward, who appeared, “is ground open yet “he replied, what’s the time? to which I responded 1235 and he said yes, it should be, so he closed the gates and then we tried to use the turnstiles only for them not to work, 20 mins later they were still not working, so the steward let us in through the gates along with 5 others.
Got to bar, informed none of the televisions were working (Didn’t come on until half time of Liverpool Match)
Went to get a drink only to be told the “ nozzles had vanished “ therefore unable to serve beer.
However as a bitter drinker ( very bitter at this point) I had a bottle of XB Theakston's, unbelievable they only had 12 bottles in stock.
Then proceeded to use my membership card for the free drink, only to be told it only applied to Fosters!!!!!!
Took my daughters boyfriend for his first visit to The Hive and likely to be his last for some time.
Only positive I can find for today, we are not bottom thanks to Dover.

I asked the steward why fans was being chucked out and he said that only fans who had tickets for east stand was only allowed in, this never been issue before ?. As for the sky box not working I was told it had been suggested to several people at the club to take the 1 away in the away bar so it could be used in hive bar obviously no 1 listened. (Do Barnet fans matter for the Hive staff?)

The East stand will now only be accessible to players family and 1888 members and fans with a disability.
Those that have sat there from day one of moving to the Hive have been told they can only sit in Legends stand.
My understanding is that the bar over at the East stand is becoming a players lounge

Re: A bad day off the pitch too
Bad enough to do this. But not to tell supporters the arrangements in advance ! We've only had 18 mths to plan for the first game ! FFS.
Re: A bad day off the pitch too
The communications between Club and fans MUST improve.
Whatever changes the Club makes all I say is PLEASE TELL US IN ADVANCE.
Re the various shambolic incidents mentioned in other posts I just hope that all went smoothly for the bride and groom and the wedding guests on their big day yesterday. The lack of match day preparation for us fans was bad enough, perhaps all available staff were putting their efforts into ensuring the happy couple had a day to remember.

Richard Brindley got charged £8 to leave the ground, and I'm very sorry, but it made me chuckle

Also, so if above is true, then there's also no coffee shop anymore for a 'decent' coffee .... this must be some master plan to totally piss off the last remaining supporters ... the hive bar used to nice to get some chips, coffee etc b4 the match.... that's at least £10 from me that l can't spend even if l wanted to !
