That’s not what Daggers fans say about Akanbi, and they’re not shy of having a good moan about their own players. Asante would be great but he’s under contract so surely his wages and any fee mean he’s well out of our range.

Scott Boden knows every trick in the book, and would like to see an experienced pro like him sign.

Asante would be a brilliant signing and would be a lot more affordable in terms of wages then elisha sam but don't think we are prepared to pay a fee!

Notice Curtis Weston has been released as well by Chesterfield.

We are far more likely to pay a fee then extortionate wages.

Well unless things have changed and you know something I don't we lost out on one big player that's now at southend that we were not prepared to pay fee for and trust me the wages were not extortionate

I could be wrong as I said but the days of TK paying fee's are a thing of the past now but let's wait and see!

I wonder why Greenidge's loan signing was advertised as "with a view to a permanent deal" when his wages have apparently been out of our range all along.

Perhaps the potential permanent deal assumed promotion to League 2.

Or possibly we just decided not to exercise the clause.

Maybe Brennan has decided that he can get a centre half who is as good for less money, if the wages are significant.

Didn’t we pay a fee for Walsh?

True. Ibby Akanbi would be worth a look. Didn’t get much of a look-in at Daggers due to the queue comprising McCallum, Walker, Morias, Balanta etc., but he’s a very pacy and powerful striker who scored goals for Maidstone in the National League South, and got very good reviews for the performances he did make for D&R.
I see Akanbi is in the Southend squad tonight as a trialist. They’ve already got about 5 strikers, and are still trialling more!

I’ll stop banging on about it soon, but I do think we’re going to be short in that department again this season, even if we bring in the one more about whom Brennan told Beespod.

Agree. We've been light on strikers for a number of years & we wonder why we have so few wins.

In the behind the bees video posted a few days ago when listing out players who were heavyweights in the boxing Brennan said German. So I'm putting two and two together to make five and say its the former Crawley striker Ricky German.

Great spot, you could well be right – Brennan seemed to suggest that the new striker would be more of a backup to Kabamba in his BeesPod interview, and German is probably at a level where he'd be happy with that squad status. Local (went to school in Harrow), 23, solid build, scored goals for fun at Hendon – sounds like exactly the sort of player we should be targeting.

I just hope German is a proper number 9.

We need a Kraut and Kraut striker
