Disappointed to see Marriott leave - his intelligent link up play was good - but no many of last years squad on a similar wavelength.

As a whole, Barnet have done ok with 20 goal a season strikers....but do not have a good record of securing a second striker / midfield / centre half who also score goals too.

We should be expecting EMC to score a miminum 10 league goals per season now

There could be many factors in Marriott leaving that might not necessarily be down to Bromley simply offering more money than us. Suppose the two offers were fairly similar......

Marriott might:
- see Bromley as a better bet to be successful next season
- have mates already at Bromley
- have a better commute to Bromley
- have doubts about whether Brennan really rated him (DB often talked Adam up, but he also left him on the bench quite often)
- felt Barnet's first offer showed they didn't rate him enough
- been put off by the way BFC handled the racism incident

or frankly 100s of other possible factors.

It might also just be down to Bromley offering more/longer terms.

Unless Adam tells somebody, we'll likely never know.

Sad to see him go. I do not think Marriott will get anywhere near 19 goals next season, the most he scored at this level before coming to us was 6 in a season. OK he may get better service at Bromley but I think his time on the pitch may be more limited than it was at Barnet.

I'm sure DB would have like to have him stay but at least the situation has now been resolved and DB now knows what he has to do, and how much money he has to play with

We must be prepared for a very low scoring season as he was a natural finisher. There is no sign of anyone even close to his record signing to date.

But if we do end up signing Max Pub as well as Pritchard then we will probably get a lot more goals from midfield and if we defend better as a unit then we’ll let in far fewer than last season.

Not sure he was. He was a poacher, totally different to someone who buries all of his one on one chances. We move on, he isn't irreplaceable.
