Another former DB player. Again showing a lack of player knowledge and scouting

Alternatively - players he knows can perform together as a team, get on and hit the ground running. To have a back 4 who can function as a 4 and not 4 individuals

That was my first thought as well!

How negative can you get. A top keeper, by all accounts, who arguably wouldn't be signing for a club at our level again if it wasn't for knowing the manager.

The defence is all coming together.

The club has served up an empty glass for the pass two seasons, so half empty is commendable.

Why would he not be playing at our level again? He sat on the bench for a side that came fourth bottom in league two, not sure many in that league would have him as their first choice.

Couldn't care less if they perform on the pitch.

What's the evidence that he's a "top class keeper"? His stats aren't impressive: a 32-year-old who has only played about 15 games above National League level and whose vast majority of appearances have been in the Southern League Premier or National League South... He should be in his prime now though so hopefully can do a job for us.

The fact that DB is mostly signing players who have played for him before - many of them cast-offs from other clubs at or around our level - doesn't fill me with confidence.

He was at our level as recently as last season (on loan at Aldershot), and Shots' fans thought he was excellent / seem disappointed that he isn't returning there for 2022/23. So that – plus DBs knowledge of what he's like in the dressing room – makes me think this is a solid signing.

Okay, which bright spark updated his wiki entry

On 20 June 2022, the world stood still as Walker joined National League titans Barnet on a permanent transfer from Stevenage.[18]
