My understanding was that TK intervened with the threat of legal action to help re-direct him to boro rather than Brentford. In doing that the rumour at the time was a small sell-on so it wouldn’t surprise me if above is true.
Why did he intervene?
I suspect because we were getting nothing out of Brentford whereas if he helped push to Peterborough given the relationship he knew he could negotiate a small incentive. All speculation but that would be my guess.

Seen numbers of rumoured amount of sell on range from 5% to 20%, but on transfer fees mentioned of between 6-9 million. So say he was sold for £8million and we only got 5% that's still
£400,000. That would come in very handy. And if we are lucky enough and the sell on is higher then even if TK gave DB half of that surely he could invest that on a bloody good player that might even be the piece in the job saw that would see us possibly push for play off place, and considering the odds on us finishing in relegation zone at start of the season it would be remarkable improvement.

Very specific number - anything to back it up?

With the fee in the millions, any % will be more than welcome!
Friends of mine who support P'boro seem sure of it. I'm sure I saw it mentioned somewhere as well. We definitely have one for Taylor though, and he has been linked with a few this summer.
Do we? I cant find any evidence of that.

A cynic might suggest that the club are deliberately vague about these sell-on clauses, so that there's no expectation of a spending spree when the deals go through... :D

I suspect all our sales have them included though, when it comes to young players moving on. We would be foolish not to.

Suspect its to keep all finances hidden from other clubs/players as well. Soon as they know you have a windfall, those prices/wage demands will go up!

Yes, but this was not a standard ‘sale’ of a young player. Edwards had not signed a senior contract with us, and as I understood it he was free to leave at the point at which the academy ceased in 2020. In those circumstances, did Peterborough really make a deal which will result in them foregoing several million pounds of a transfer fee for a key player?

McAnthony has said in the past that he loves including sell-on clauses for players recruited from the lower leagues, so I would be very surprised if one was not included in the Edwards deal. Barnet were not in a very strong negotiating position at the time, but there is no reason TK would have pushed back against a move to Brentford if they weren't trying to pull our pants down. I think Peterborough and Barnet have a pretty good relationship and long may it continue.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Posh added that sell on fee to maintain the relationship with Barnet so they can get first dibs on our best talent.

Also, could posh have offered a sell on fee to Barnet if TK guided the player to posh rather than Brentford?

I was under the impression that we get a friendly and that's it! The signing of Kanu was "for an undisclosed fee"???

Probably in conjunction with the EMC deal.
