It's the FA Cup...yippee!!!
A few big prices for those romantics out there, but first of all the Big Match.

Bees win 5/4
Clarets win 5/2
Draw 13/5

My heart says Bees win, my head says "save your money, Hoppy. You know it will all go tits up"
I might wait till half-time and have an In Match flutter.

Anyway how about these....
Needham Market to win at Burton. 10/1
Coalville to win at Charlton 14/1
Taunton to win at MK Dons. 12/1
Oldham to win at Wrexham 10/1
Bracknell to beat Ipswich 14/1

As always, good luck folks.

Well, tonight the bookies have Alty as favourites. I'm not so sure whether they warrant that, we shall see. I have a sneaky feeling that the Bees will be returning to North London with at least a point.

Alty win Evens
Bees win 12/5
Draw 3/1

Nicke Kabamba is 5/1 to score the first goal, and if Ben Wynter can score the first goal as he did on Saturday you can get decebt odds of 25/1.

If you have confidence in our defence (he he) then how about Barnet to score first (13/10) coupled up with a small bet on No Goals (16/1).

Also tonight there is the Southend v Notts County game on BT Sport.
I like the look of a Southend win (3/1).

Good luck all.

I do hope that some of you took the 12/5 on Tuesday, it's so nice to relieve the bookies of some of their immense funds.
Like Tuesday the host club are the favourites today so a good chance to batter the bookies again. Without wishing to put the mockers on it I can see us coming back with at least a point today.

Latics win 11/10
Bees win 9/4
Draw 14/5

Laurie Walker had a couple of Ioan spells at Oldham in 2021. If Bees win and Laurie keeps a clean sheet you can get a return of 6/1.
Nicke Kabamba is due a goal. He is 5/1 to be the first scorer today. Or how about Sam Beard as first scorer (40/1).

As always, good luck all.

So, our third consecutive away game and, co-incidentally, for all three games the bookies have favoured the home team.
The Bees made the bookies weep at Altrincham (0 2) and they were positively wailing after Oldham (also 0 2).
So can the Bees make it a hat trick? Well, I don't see why not. Chelmsford (albeit with a considerably weakened team lost at home on Saturday (0 2) whilst Mr Brennan seems to have worked wonders with our defence. Since shipping 7 goals in one game Barnet have only conceded 7 in 8 subsequent matches.

Clarets win 8/5
Bees win 7/4
Draw 27/10

I'm contemplating a little punt on yet another 2 0 win for the Bees. The odds on that are 14/1 (bugger, they were 17/1 a couple of days ago). There's money piling on the Bees at the moment, our game is the only meaningful game on tonight so expect more money to go on the Bees win and the odds to reduce further.

In the end we did start favourites at Chelmsford. The bookies original odds were crazy and punters recognised that lumping on the Bees to win. Well done punters, hard luck bookies (he he).

There's no disputing the bookies odds for our game against Torquay. Our recent form makes us odds on favourites to win.

Bees win 4/5
Gulls win 16/5
Draw 16/5

I don't like odds-on betting so I'm looking at other possibilities to boost my Xmas Present Fund.
Nicke Kabamba hasn't scored for seven games, he is 7/2 favourite to get the first goal, I think I prefer the 6/1 for Idris Kanu.
Correct score betting gives better odds, all odds are for a Bees win....
2 1....15/2
1 0....10/1
2 0....21/2
3 1...12/1
3 0 ...17/1
If you fancy a goal fest....
5 3....200/1
6 2....250/1
6 0....250/1
5 4....300/1
7 0....300/1

Good luck all.

Yay!!! FA Cup 2nd round....who needs the World Cup?
The Bees are big outsiders to win this afternoon, but how can we ever forget that memorable day up at Sheffield United when the Blades were 1/4 to win and the Bees were 11/1. IT HAPPENS!! And it can happen again today.

Accy win 4/7
Bees win 5/1
Draw 7/2

Other NL teams in action in the cup....
Chesterfield 9/5 to win at AFC Wimbledon
Wrexham 3/11 to beat Farnborough
Dagenham and Redbridge 6/4 to beat Gillingham
Boreham Wood 19/4 to win at Bristol Rovers

Good luck to all those NL teams but massive best wishes to the Bees (and all you punters out there).

Bees v Wealdstone tomorrow lunchtime and the bookies have us as favourites to win, but let us not get complacent. Wealdstone's last four matches in the NL have yielded ten points, away wins at Alty (1 0) and York (2 1) a home win against Scunthorpe (3 1) and a home draw against Wrexham (0 0). That's pretty decent form, so take nothing for granted.

Bees win 5/4
Stones win 21/10
Draw 11/4

I cannot see a goal fest tomorrow so how about...
Bees win 1 0...9/1
Bees win 2 0...13/1
Stones win 1 0...12/1
Stones win 2 0....19/1
Draw 0 0...14/1
Draw 1 1...33/5

As always, good luck all.

6 of the top 7 clubs in the National League are all at home tonight (Wrexham play tomorrow) and the best price you can get for a home win is 1/1 for Southend to beat the Wood.
I have a hunch, however, that at least one (probably more) of these top NL teams will be more than happy to go out of this competition and focus on promotion so how about a bet on the opposition?

Notts County v Chorley (13/2)
Wrexham v Scunthorpe (17/2)
Chesterfield v Coalville Town (4/1)
Woking v Eastleigh (13/4)
Barnet v Plymouth Parkway 13/2)
Southend v Boreham Wood (45/17)
Solihull v AFC Telford (15/2)

To complete the odds in the Bees match tonight the Home win is 2/5 and the Draw is 17/4.

Good luck everybody, have a great Xmas and a successful 2023 (bookies excepted).

Chaos reigns at Hoppy's and it will only get worse over the next few days so an early post for the Boxing Day derby.

Well, avid readers of this thread will know that when the opposition are favourites to beat us we invariably win the match. "Yes" I hear you say. "But, Hoppy, look at the Form Table. Bees in 4th place, 13 points from the last 6 games and Wood in 22nd place, 4 points from the last 6 games".

You are absolutely right, Avid Reader, and to add to that the Bees have only conceded 2 goals in the last 8 games.
So, obviously, the Bees will be odds on favourites to best the Wood!

NO!!!

Bees win 15/8
Wood win 6/4
Draw 12/5

How does that work? Who cares? I'm having a slice of that. Thank you bookies.
Seasons greetings to all Bees fans, and, on this occasion seasons greetings to the bookies too.

Must dash, pressies to wrap.

Backed us at 2-1 for the win yesterday, thought that was too long.

We are available at 3-1 next week!

Yep 9/5 was too long and I happily obliged. Seems like the bookies are on a BWood love-in again with us 3/1 at their place too.

Very generous: I can’t understand it personally. Think the media are still in love with their fa cup exploits.

I’m not a betting person but looking at Oddschecker it appears that the bookmakers still think that we’re an extremely long shot for the playoffs. Something you might want to profit from!
