Shame that some fans didn't guess that something like this was the likely explanation instead of moaning about the club's shortcomings.
Sorry but this is a ridiculous thing to say. I (I’m sure like others) always assumed that the lack of updates on Saturday was most likely the result of staff illness or absence for another reason because usually, of course, the media officer would be at the game providing updates to supporters. It is perfectly possible to assume that to be to case, and to hope that everything is OK with the staff member involved, and also to believe that a (supposedly) professional football club should have someone who is able to step in and cover what effectively amounts to tweeting a bit about the game and filming a video on an iPhone afterwards. Things happen with employees all the time - illness, family issues, unplanned leave etc. - that should always take priority over work, and are absolutely no fault of the employee, but any functioning, well-run organisation will have contingencies in place to deal with them. The frustration people have is that BFC clearly does not. To condescendingly suggest that supporters had jumped the gun by suggesting that, even if certain staff members are off, a professional football club should be able to operate a Twitter account, misses the point that was being made.
Totally agree with this post. And it's not just about not having updates on twitter, four days later we still don't have a post match interview with our manager. All together makes club appear to be a Sunday league run media club. We was told the media guy had four other staff, two being uni students, don't tell me university students don't know how to upload footage, interview or anything for that matter to a web site.

So my understanding is the Media Guy has a domestic emergency sufficiently serious that he has to leave work in a hurry.

I'd imagine (of course I may be wrong) leaving little or no time to sort out and of course staff members may have had prior arrangements and unable to alter to stand in.

Now this may be radical but I followed Aldershot twitter feed and brought NLP Sunday to read DB post match thoughts!!

Feel lucky it's not needed to make a call to club call!

is leaving which leaves two uni students. Who do filming for games, not sure why then that no highlights have still not been put on clubs web site or Twitter account, don't tell me students don't know how to upload footage to a web site. Who does the interviews with Dean ?, Assumed it was one of students, as cannot see it being the graphic designer of media guy. And to date there is still no post match interview.
For Goodness Sake, the Media Guy has a domestic emergency sufficiently serious that he has to leave work in a hurry. Something which would have been authorised by TK. We don't know what happened but just use your imagination.
Yet all you are fussed about is a post match interview.

I couldn't give a sod whether or not we get a post match interview. I'm far more concerned that all is well for the Media Guy.
I hope all is well with Dominic family.

From what we know he had to leave work in a hurry of Friday night in advance of a game on Saturday afternoon. It doesn’t seem to be unreasonable ask that the Club might be able to muster the capability to communicate what was going on. Your determination to defend the club on just about everything is notable Becbee, but somewhat ridiculous at times.

I don't agree that I defend the club on everything they do, even less that I'm determined to do so. I have been around long enough to be aware of the multitude of mistakes that have been made. However I see no point in making mountains out of molehills and making myself miserable. And to be completely honest, I was far more concerned about what happened on the pitch at Aldershot than I was the lack of Twitter comments about it. If that's me being ridiculous, then so be it. Let's just agree to differ on what's important in life.

If I was a betting man I would put it on there being sweet fanny Adams. So take a couple of crusty cheese rolls with you.

Think there has been a lot of posts regarding this topic, it's not just about Twitter, it's also No post match interview with DB, No injury updates, or anything else within the club. Except I have seen on clubs web site and Twitter about tickets for Sat game, pictures of players in training, so whoever has put this up, why just this and nothing from DB or his assistant regarding Aldershot game and up coming game against Southend.

Whats to stop a barnet staff member tweeting 'there will be no match coverage today' would of taken 30 seconds.

The fact there was a tweet at 1:30pm just an hour and a half before kick off with a video of the Aldershot stadium, would of led everyone to believe there was going to be coverage. Why couldn't the person who uploaded that video do the updates during the game?

Anyway I was at the game so not too arsed but its just so amateurish from the club once again.

Add into the equation the fact there’s a full behind the scenes video from the game with footage meaning someone from our media team was there, but we had no post match interview. Priorities seem strange.
