I thought the whole point of moving to the Hive was with the extra revenue generated, we would be able to compete. Obviously just more bullshit from TK because as the Hive expands so does his bank balance to the detriment of the playing side of things.

The Hive and Barnet FC’s fortunes are in no way linked. Clearly zero money is invested.

Big questions over DB after the dross served past couple of games tbh especially in light of the signings.

Sloppy performance. We looked lost and like a bunch of strangers playing together for the first time. Yet we still somehow did enough to get something out of the game, had the referee given what should have been a stonewall penalty or the given the disallowed goal.

We have a habit of not playing well but grinding out impressive results and I think we'll be doing plenty more of that in the months to come. When the result doesn't come though it's a tough watch.

Given that Sean Shields is two-footed perhaps DB could have brought on Hall and moved SS over to the other wing taking off Daniel Powell instead.
Interesting that the one minute silence was extended into the playing of the national anthem. I didn't hear anybody sing it.

We only have ourselves to blame. Started strongly, first to every ball and could have been 2 up after 20 minutes.

Powell played better than expected but for me started to drift in from wing more and more and at times got in wsy of Kabamba. After 30 minutes he started to look leggy.

Cannot fathom why he was favoured ahead of Hall unless Hall is managing an injury. Shields was most effective attacking player with Kabamba not winning aerial balls.

Second half Dorking were first to ball and more decisive in attack as had reverted back 3 so packed more in midfield. Think Hall should have come on for Powell.

Kanu looks to be one of those players who runs to the ball demanding the ball, thinking they're a playmaker then dribbling the ball without releasing. Better he does his runs into space higher up the pitch.

Shields should not have been hooked at all, and Beard was given a hard time before injury.

There were some debatable decisions, but had enough chances on goal to at least draw level. We know we have goalscoring midfielders this season, but need a second striker for sure.

Immensely frustrating performance last night.

Okimo looked weak at centre back and if he and the Moose are oiler only options there we need another CB.

De Havilland didn't look fit but it was largely irrelevant as we decided that the best way to play in greasy conditions with three ball playing midfielders was to go long to Kabamba. It wasn't.

Dale Gorman is not a defensive midfielder. He is not a set piece specialist. He is an energetic attacking player. We have three defensive midfielders on the books. Time to start using them.

I have long been a supporter of Powell but he was poor yesterday. Hall should start ahead of him if for no other reason that one of our corners may actually be threatening if he doess.

Kabamba tried hard but he needs more support. On the seldom occasion he won the ball it was a Dorking player who won the second ball and long balls to him simply don't work. Sign a striker please.

Taking Shields off was bizarre. We was the only player who looked capable of creating anything.

Brennan's tactics were inflexible. His substitutions poor and we came out very ragged in the second half. He needs to reflect on his own performance.

Special mention to the officials. Two clear penalties and a goal disallowed for not very much. Not taking action on dangerous tackles but booking for dissent. Not keeping up with play and letting the Dorking players get away with blatant cheating. A performance at least as weak as those in black and Amber put in.

Brennan has some serious work to put in to make sure we are not humiliatied at Solihull.

Walker 7 does what he does
Wynter 4- slow bad and passing but could of scored
Collinge- 6 was ok almost made a blunder to cost us a goal
Okimo-5 off his game tonight
Beard- 5 given a tough time
Gorman-6 tried his best
Pritchard- 7 ran his socks off all night
RDH- 5 didn’t notice he was playing after the first 15
Sheilds -6.5 kept trying even when things were going his way
Powell -4 what’s the point
Kabamba - 6 kept going , struggled in the air but when when he did win headers nobody was there to support him

Brennan & the new media guy don’t seem to get on going by that post match interview & fair play he stood up for himself as Walker did make a couple of good saves as always.

Can’t believe he didn’t mix it up at half time, there was no point De Haviland playing last night, the game completely bypassed him. Thought the 2 laziest/unfit players were the 2 from last season - Powell & Ryan.

Also think Beard is going backwards at the moment too.

Depressing night even with some shocking decisions go against us.

Guess they count season ticket holders ? Looked a very small crowd to me. Was a poor game, one which we could have got something out of. Officials were appalling.

The thing is I think most people would have picked that midfield 3 to start off with.
As it turned out RDH had very little influence on the match and it might have been better to use Conor Smith so we could have some control over midfield (assuming Armstrong isn’t quite ready yet).
In the second half, Dorking managed to compress the play very effectively and were far less open in the centre of the pitch, so we should have made our full-backs push up the wings to stretch the play.
As other people have said, the subs made us worse. I can see Kanu being an infuriating player, dribbling in the middle of the pitch does not cause your opponent problems and explains why his goal tally is so low.
I have to say that it was quite refreshing to see a club like Dorking play so fearlessly. They will get thrashed by the big guns (like they did against Wrexham) but their approach will get them enough wins against the rest to ensure that they will be fine.

DB has to wear this and also the Aldershot defeat:

> Lopsided squad with too many midfielders
> One striker who tries hard but is not prolific
> Continuing to persevere with Powell who clearly is not up to the job

Someone needs to get to the bottom of the striker issue. Surely TK isn't to blame as he sanctioned the purchase of a load of players chosen by DB this summer but DB has built a squad that has a load of midfielders but only one proper striker.

I'm getting frustrated watching us atm. It's not that we're not trying it's that we have no one to finish the chances we create. Surely an experienced guy like DB (and even TK) can see that?

Covid would have hit the non footballing revenues of The Hive dramatically and this would mean less available to subsidise playing activities if it was the intention.

As such i suspect this would have hurt our business model much more than other clubs.

The quirky Dorking commentator also thought it was a great game. Although he was cheering for his side he was very fair when Barnet did something well. Granted i only caught the last twenty minutes of the commentary.

I was left with a feeling after yesterday's result(s) football clearly resumed too early after the passing of the monarch.

The FA should decide that all games played in the period between her passing and funeral should be null and voided and replayed.
