FA Trophy 5th Round - Torquay/Taunton v Barnet
FA Trophy 5th Round - Torquay/Taunton v Barnet
No Home Tie
Looking at the fixtures, does that mean that we could be playing Torquay away over two consecutive Saturdays?

And? They’re 22nd! We beat Solihull away and they’re 10 places higher.

5 away games in 15 days, thanks national league and your stupid 8 week rule re postponements! imagine a club in financial difficulties having to hire 5 coaches in 15 days! totally devoid of logic.

Love a trip to Turkey...if they win. Decent draw. Half expected Aldershot or Southend away

Solihull are currently in far worse form than Torquay.
Some of us ( and doubtless the team too) would prefer not to have 5 successive away matches, let alone 2 8 hour round trips to Torquay on successive Saturdays with a 4 hour round trip to Nottingham sandwiched in between.

Fair point with regards to travelling but given that DB is clearly taking the trophy seriously, I still think we should have too much for them on the pitchbecbee wrote: ↑16 Jan 2023, 15:57Solihull are currently in far worse form than Torquay.

Depending on whether we play Torquay or Taunton, the team mileage to and from The Hive per Google Maps will be either 1860 or 1760 miles in 15 days. That's pretty heavy going. Not great for us supporters either.

I guess (if it's Torquay), if you have to go to any National League twice so soon, Devon is the place for it to be (in my opinion!). Wish I could stay a week (not in Torquay!)!

Both lovely places and winnable games.
I'd love a trip to Taunton if i was able to go. Many fond memories of trips to Minehead to watch Madness with other Barnet supporters, Taunton was the stop we had to get off at to catch the bus and in better times a cab to Butlins where they had an annual residency.

Two trips to Torquay in a week potentially, Eesh. Is there any news about a supporters coach to Torquay for the league game? It mentioned it potentially happening in an email a few weeks back.
Re: FA Trophy 5th Round - Torquay/Taunton v Barnet
Fairly brutal period coming with some tough teams combined with 5 away games in a row. Shame the teams below have been on as good form as us in some cases in recent weeks.
Re: FA Trophy 5th Round - Torquay/Taunton v Barnet
Looking at the teams left in, only two teams you probably would want to avoid, Southend and York, and they have been drawn against each other in fifth round, so ( fingers crossed ) we beat Torquay or Taunton this will only leave one team on paper you would hope it the players were determined to get a day out to Wembley and that will be winners of Southend v York. So draw is helping us as best we could hope, except maybe Torquay could of been at home. But in away being Torquay will be at home they should push up which hopefully will give our quality players chances on the break.

I intend to go to my first game of the season at torquay for the trophy game. It is not a difficult journey from brixham!
