I did not say I thought it was a pen, agree I thought there player was looking for it, but the standard of let's be generous some of the referee's we have seen could of have given it.shankbee01 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 18:44Nah, that would have been a very soft penalty. I was right behind it and Fernandez was a very lucky boy. Definite foul anywhere else on the pitch. Other than that he was faultless. Very impressive debut.
Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
Agree with all of that , nothing's changed since Lower Mead days. They did probably edge the first half but says more about how poor we were. They did distribute their fouling of Kanu quite cleverly around their team as well.WillesdenBee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 18:35 Easiest second half we will have all season, and we were only playing at about 50%. Awful club, awful fans, awful stadium, awful players. Fernandez, Powell, Gorman all very good. Not much else to say, onto Woking.
Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
Think the players enjoyed that win as well, Laurie Walker posted on Twitter "thanks for the 6 points", and Pritch wrote "3 points on derby day",WillesdenBee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 18:35 Easiest second half we will have all season, and we were only playing at about 50%. Fernandez was silly with that shove. Penalty would have been harsh, but seen them given.
That aside, he looked excellent - big, quick, composed and savage in the tackle. Not easy conditions or pitch to make your debut on.
Special mention for Powell, who looked a threat going forward and did really well tracking back.

I know this has been said a lot this season, but it remains relevant. The players actually care!! It’s been too long!Roy57 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 19:26Think the players enjoyed that win as well, Laurie Walker posted on Twitter "thanks for the 6 points", and Pritch wrote "3 points on derby day",WillesdenBee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 18:35 Easiest second half we will have all season, and we were only playing at about 50%. Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
I left the ground late after applauding the team off and then waiting to have a pee. I came out onto the road leading to the High Street and there was something going on further up that road with police cars and bobbies running up the road. When I caught up with it all, it was the lads from the Amber Brittalion who had stopped and were filming themselves dancing and singing in jest about 100m from the High Street. This created a backlog of people, who were mainly Barnet, and once that convey got moving again created a mass of supporters who very loudly walked onto the High Street and shattered any threat from the Wealdstone youth who thought they had a chance of trouble. Very clever and enjoyable.
Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
On BBC sport under National league and selecting our game today there is actually comment section, a supporter mentioned how poor the pitch was and after 2nd goal the game was really iver, the next comment from a Wealdstone to this comment was " you nicked our ground"
Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
Solid away performance as we’ve seen many times this season!
Only downer was seeing Woking scored a winner in the 97th minute. Would’ve made Tuesday even bigger. Saying that I think Chesterfield will probably Nick 3rd!

Agree. Shite ground, shitty fans, niggly team, good burgers and stewards. Great Barnet attendance everyone. Good team performance, and I include us!11bee717 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 19:41I know this has been said a lot this season, but it remains relevant. The players actually care!! Another banana skin avoided, 3 more points in the bag. Well done bees.
Re: Wealdstone (Away) The Match Thread on the Fence
The ref was right up with play and had a perfect view of the incident. Unlike some refs we've seen.Roy57 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 19:01I did not say I thought it was a pen, agree I thought there player was looking for it, but the standard of let's be generous some of the referee's we have seen could of have given it.shankbee01 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 18:44Nah, that would have been a very soft penalty. Well one of our fans was racially abused- glad police captured- no place for it - no words for it other than obvious

Managers often get absolutely ridiculed when results don't go their team's way.
So a massive shout out and congratulations to our fantastic gaffer who quite simply is doing a phenomenal job to rebuild our club and bring the good times back. He deserves all the plaudits and credit that he gets. A truly phenomenal human being too. Long may he continue at the helm.
