I agree that Chesterfield are rightly favourites, and that their attacking players are a cut above everyone else’s.

Just two weeks ago Chesterfield were 5/1 favourites. Their odds have now halved to 5/2. Consequently the odds on many of the other NL clubs are drifting, Barnet included.
The best odds o the Bees are now 22/1. If you fancy a flutter on the Bees approach Paddy Power or Betfair to get these odds.

Over-priced, I would say Gateshead at 40/1 and Altrincham at 100/1.

Under-priced, Hartlepool and Rochdale both low prices because they played in the mighty EFL last season. Southend at 12/1…hmmm, who knows how their season will pan out. I would want more than 12/1 to tempt me. Similar comments for Dagenham at 16/1.

With the fixtures released today and our first NL match only 31 days away I have had another look at the latest betting odds. Since my earlier post several other bookies have opened their books.

Of the 24 clubs only 3 have seen their odds strengthen….

Chesterfield was 5/1 now 5/2
AFC Fylde was 25/1 now 22/1
York City was 40/1 now 33/1

Oldham Athletic stay at 11/1

The other 20 clubs have all drifted in the betting.

Hartlepool was 8/1 now 14/1
Rochdale was 9/1 now 14/1
Southend was 12/1 now 25/1
Eastleigh was 16/1 now 25/1
Dagenham was16/1 now 33/1

BARNET have drifted a bit from 18/1 to 22/1. We were equal 9th in the betting, we are now 6th in the betting.

i wouldn't touch Scunthorpe with a barge pole, new owner in dispute with previous owner and they could well be evicted from Glanford Park and have nowhere to play!

York now into as low as 14/1 after they’ve been throwing money around with their new owners the Uggla family that failed in buying Yeovil (was even in the away end at the hive vs Yeovil buying the fans drinks).

Don’t delay if you want to place a bet on Barnet for the 2023/24 season. The odds are shortening as bookies and punters think the Bees will be up there come next April.

BetFred has us at 20/1 and SkyBet 18/1. All the rest show 16/1 or 14/1, significantly lower odds than a few weeks ago.

Not huge odds on a Bees win but I’m gonna take that. I was fairly impressed with last week’s win over Cambridge United. There seemed to be strength in every position and even when Mr Brennan swapped six players the momentum of the game was unaffected.
Could this be our year? Why the hell not?
