Presumably the interest shown initially was not confined to regular message board posters?

Indeed, I'm sure if it went on the official site and on twitter etc it would help. Also maybe some posters around the ground ahead of the Altrincham game, in the programme etc? Get the word out to the Amber Battalion as well, how many of us started away games thanks to the coach?

With train being so expensive, I think a lot of hardcore away fans will arrange train when tickets go on sale 3 months in advance and they make up most of this forum.

It must be so frustrating for BFCSA.
Is it that hard to understand that while quite a lot of people might think it would be good if the Supporters Association organised away coaches, far fewer would use them for anything other than big games, or when other transport options are constrained ?

Even at the very reasonable return price of £38 along with the cost of transport to the bus pick up points and tickets to the game it is a fair chunk of extra money to find for a trip to games to a place that is hardly likely to be seen as the most attractive of our away trips.

Well done to BFCSA for testing the water. I suspect there would be better take up later in the season if we have games where things are getting to a crucial stage in our promotion challenge.

My reading of the situation is that the BFCSA had been given the impression that fans wanted away coaches and if they were available they'd book them all season round for matches which were otherwise difficult to get to. As fans of other clubs presumably do.

Agreed there might well be greater demand later in the season although I doubt Halifax would be seen as any more attractive than Rochdale.

If the last away game of the season at Halifax is a promotion decider or a play off place cliff hanger we would fill 2 coaches. If it’s a dead rubber I think even the coach driver would go awol.

What was the question they asked to get that impression, and who did they ask ?

I’m one of the few who has booked on the coach to Rochdale. If it’s cancelled early next week because of lack of numbers then it will probably be too late for me to get train tickets at a reasonable price. That means I probably won’t go which is a shame.

Seems so strange that after posts asking can the supporters association look into getting coach travel back for away games but when they do the interest is not been taken up, which as already stated the cost of train fares are disgrace, and I started my time many years ago supporting Barnet going to away games on coaches, great atmosphere, stop of at services, seeing other supporters from other clubs going the other direction, such a shame if this is not taken up and can be built on, as other wise coach travel to games especially long distance will be removed if no interest is shown.

I don't think it is strange. I personally wouldn't use the coach, but if you asked me if the SA should look into running them, I would say yes. Just because I don't want to use them doesn't mean I want to deny others the option of having them.

I rather suspect we will see the same if safe standing ever comes to the Hive. And indeed we are seeing the same with the terrace. Everyone lamenting its loss, but towards the end very few actually used the terrace.

The club is going to push it this week and we'll remind all 450 members plus social media.
However, the fact that we're nowhere near getting the numbers, at present, with 7 for Rochdale and 6 for Kidderminster is well, not good! If we were 5 or 10 short, I could understand that.

Curious those who are thinking of attending either or both of these games but don't want to use coaches how do you plan on travelling ?

Can’t make either, but would have driven from Crawley, purely location would stop me using them, I used them for Gateshead and they were great!
